Mandy- 7 Months

A few weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment at the doctor to get an ultrasound of the baby. I haven't gone at all since I found out I was pregnant. I don't know the baby's gender, if it's healthy, or if it's even alive. I haven't noticed any kicking or moving at all. I had to choke down my nerves as Jacky and I sat in the waiting room. I wanted Ronnie here, but he couldn't come because he was busy. Jacky and I got here ten minutes ago, but there were other patients in line ahead of us, and we were talking about music as we passed the time.

"Have you heard of Jeffree Star?" I asked him. I loved Jeffree Star.

"With the pink hair? Yeah, we did a music video with him," Jacky replied.

"Oh, yeah. Have you ever listened to his music?" I asked, and Jacky shook his head.

"Oh my god. I have to show you one of his songs!" I pulled my iPod out of my pocket and searched through it for a song by Jeffree to show Jacky.

Get Away With Murder? No.

Prisoner? Maybe.

Lollipop Luxury? Hehe, nah.

Boom Boom Pow? YES!

I gave my iPod to Jacky and he played the song. I watched his face go from normal to confused to creeped out. I started laughing.

"Okay, give it back now," I said, holding out my hand. Jacky shook his head, smiling.

"I wanna see all the artists you like," he said, making my eyes widen. He can't see some of those.

I reached for it, but he held it out of my reach. We fought for it for a second and Jacky won by pushing me onto the floor.

"Jacky! Do you know how dangerous that was?! What if you hurt the baby?!" I asked, joking.

He chuckled, "You're such a drama queen," he said while he was looking at the artists. I hung my head in shame. People weren't supposed to see that.

"Celine Dion?" He asked with one raised brow. I nodded. He kept scrolling.

"Most of these aren't that ba-" He began, but stopped himself.

Oh god. He found it.

"Justin Bieber? Really?" He asked.

I immediately jumped up to defend myself," Its just one song, Jacky!" I said loudly.

"Mandy?"

Jacky and I turned to the door to find a nurse waiting for us. We shut up and followed behind her quietly. She led us to a room and I sat down on one of those big chairs and Jacky sat in a regular chair across from me.

"Okay, well, since this is your first appointment, you should have been given some paper work to fill out while you were waiting. Where is it?" She asked in a kind tone. I handed it to her. I had finished it in five minutes.

"Alright, good. We're gonna start now, if you have any questions just ask," She finished. I had none so far.

The nurse put some really cold gel on my stomach, making me wince from the feeling. She got out the ultrasound instrument and started looking around. I watched the screen like a hawk. I was scared, what if something was wrong? Shouldn't I be feeling movement by now?

The video on the screen didn't make sense to me. I glanced at Jacky, he was staring at the screen. I caught a glimpse of the nurse- she had her brows drawn together in confusion.

I wish I hadn't look at the nurse, now I'm really scared.

"Is something wrong?" I asked slowly, fearing the answer.
