Kiara's P.O.V

We completed our project interviewing Rajasthani people about their culture and collecting information from them. The day of departure came, we sat in the train.

"Yaar, if we had to these things. We could surf over Internet right? Full of information" Zayn complained

"But doing things practically is a different experience" I remarked

The following day we reached our college. As soon as I stepped inside my dorm, my friends Roshni and Preeta hugged me tightly.
"Missed you" They said in unison

"Even I did" I broke the hug, they were my best friends., Sharing things with them became easy as they never judged me. I was never a normal girl, when they were my friends. It was a feeling of satisfaction, atleast I had friends.

"Okay. I need your help. Exams are coming and I need to complete everything" I said and jumped in my bed taking out all my books.

I began my studies and the whole week was passed in giving tests and doing practicals.

"All the best guys!" I wished my friends before entering the exam Hall.
The exam was easy and I totally nailed it.

"Kiara. What are you writing?" Preeta said

"Lyrics for a new song. You know, I have to focus on music. It is so important for me. My parents think that I'll leave a mark in music industry" I affirmed

"Your parents are different. Very few parents encourage their children to do something great, my parents want me to complete my education, settle down and marry" She scoffed "They never asked me, What do I want?" Her eyes were filled with tears.

Then, I realised. I am not the only person who is facing difficulties , and my parents were of my choice.

"Preeta, Believe in yourself. You are the smartest person in your group" I consoled her.

"Since childhood, I was taught. Parents are everything they'll decide everything for you. Don't I have little bit freedom to speak for myself. When I spoke my heart, they dodged the question. Sometimes I felt like I don't have any place in my family. I have no identity, I am Nothing!"
She was sobbing. "I silently accepted everything they did for me. Whether I liked or not. I wanted to become a lawyer, They ignored everything and burdened me with their expectations with a hope that they I'll complete their dream. I don't feel like who I am," Tears rolled down her cheeks.

It reminded of my story as well. Though they wanted me to enroll in a prestigious music school, they never asked me to follow my dreams. I don't know what I wanted to be.

The exams were over and it was my final year in college.
Me and my friends gathered at the cafeteria for some sort of discussion or meeting.

"Guys. Last time, last moment. Finally we will be chasing our dreams, Literally" Karan squealed

"Perhaps, our life begins..." Preeta said softly.

"Okay. Why don't we live these days before the campus placements begin. There is a week. Right?"

"Yeah right" Neil said and drank his coffee.

"So it means, We are going on a road trip?" Roshni asked

My face stood blank, "Where?"

"A music festival" Aman suggested

"That's a good idea" Ayush chimed

"Wohoo!" Neil and Ayush gave a High five.

"Interesting" I said having a bagel bite.
