"you're going to what him?" jisung squeaked. Prey-like eyes widened in fear, withdrawing his sweating hands so they were no longer intertwined. "wait, fuck him as in you hate him or–
"of course! What were you thinking of?"
"Nothing!" he shook his head vigorously.
Unaware of his baffled state, haru trailed on further.
"you know, at first, he wasn't even that bad in the 9th grade. He was really funny and.." she shook her head. "well, it doesn't matter. He turned into a massive douchebag now, and I couldn't care less what happens to him."
She pushed her silky hair back and haughtily raised her nose.
"You say you don't care but mention him a lot."
"from now on, I will no longer give a shit about him."
"This guy you're talking about. he's the one who called for my help the other day, right?" he pretended to ask for clarification.
Haru nodded furiously, and the boy gripped the ledge tightly, worried she might push him off.
"yeah, he told everyone he knew you from the park internship." she rolled her eyes. "I bet he's too busy licking Mr Park's ass right now. no wonder why he stood me up for our group project!"

The group project! he was so busy with Mr wang and his superhero life that he completely forgot about his student life. Those texts and calls from the unknown id. It all was her.
"Maybe he was busy?"
she scoffed. "han jisung busy? With what, a girlfriend? I bet the guy hasn't even had his first kiss."
"you don't know that!" he cleared his throat. "I mean, who knows what happens in his life? maybe he has a second life."
Despite his disagreement, she was right. his lips were complete virgins.
"He has been really busy ever since the park internship," she admitted. "he's always late to lessons, runs as soon as the bell rings and sleeps in class."
jisung shifted. He never realised anyone would even pay attention to him, let alone Haru.
"but that's not an excuse to blow me off without texting or calling back. I waited for almost two hours!"
She was furious. her delicate eyes prickling with tears.
"Such a stupid reason to cry about. I'm sorry for dumping this all on you. I can't imagine what you go through."
the hero shook his head. "don't apologise to me. I'm listening. you have every reason to be mad."
"thanks." she smiled weakly. "I just thought of someone as academic as him would understood how important this was to me. And now my schedule is messed up. my mum would kill me if she ever found out."
