Ch.28 : Good News

Gulf's POV

I don't even know if it's gonna be alright or not. I step on gas pedal. My car leaves our house in high speed. Win keeps mumbling and calling me and his dada. My tears fall continuously from my eyes. It doesn't take a long time. Finally, we arrive at hospital.

I carry Win in my arms and go to emergency room. Two nurses help me immediately. One of the nurse leads us to an empty bed while the other one calls doctor. I sit on the edge of the bed, still hugging my baby. She takes my baby's temperature. But, apparently, his temperature is a bit higher since the last time I checked it. This hurts me so much. Like something squeezes my heart. I burst into tears again. I'm so stupid! I should bring him to hospital earlier.

"Momo is sorry naa, baby~ sob... Momo is sorry naaa~"

A doctor comes to us. He checks on Win and tells me that Win should be given IV and observed for the next hours. Hearing that feels like my whole world collapses. He's just a little boy. It will really hurt for him. But, I don't have other choice, except nodding at him. I hold his hand and stroke his hair.

"Don't too worried about his fever, nong Gulf. Your baby is going to be fine. We will move him to a room later."

I lift my face. I didn't expect that he was the one who examined my baby. I'm too focused on my baby until I don't realize who is coming. He is P'Boss, khun phi's friend. P'Boss and khun phi has been friends since a long time ago. He is also pediatrician, like khun phi.

"Thank you, phi..."

"Have you told P'Mew? I think he has finished his surgery. Or, you want me to call him?"

"Yes, phi. I left my phone on my car."

"Okay!"

P'Boss leaves us and nurse comes to inject IV. She takes out a small needle. When the sharp needle makes contact with my baby's skin, he cries so loud even he isn't fully conscious. I hold his small body, so the nurse can do her job quickly. She is done with her job. I thank her and she continues her other job.

Mew's POV

I run to emergency room as fast as I can when Boss came and told me about Win's condition. I arrive at the department in no time. It is still crowded from last accident. I walk through each bed. My steps stop when I hear a familiar voice. I gulp. I approach the bed.

I see owner of the voice. He sobs beside the bed while holding that tiny hand. My whole world freezes. I see my little baby laying on hospital bed. It breaks my heart into pieces. I put my hands on his shoulders.

"Yai nong..."

His head leans on my waist. "Khun phi... sobs... I'm very afraid..."

"Don't be afraid, yai nong... Win will be alright...", I stroke his hair.

"Really?", he says as he lifts his face up.

"Yes, baby~ Now, stop crying or baby Win will cry if he knows his momo is crying...", I wipe his tears and kiss his forehead.

My baby nods. Actually, my tears also nearly fall. But, I hold it with all my might. I have to be strong for my yai nong. He must be really afraid. Also, he was alone at home without no one helped him. On top of that, finding transportation at this hour is not easy, except he is... d-driving?!

I walk back from parking lot where yai nong's car was parked. He told me everything about he drove to hospital. I was totally shocked. I was speechless. I couldn't say anything, except thanking god for protecting them from any bad. It feels magical for me. His fear, his trauma, were defeated by mother's love for his baby.
