After Janus left, Logan once again felt alone but he needed time to think. Logan quickly went to his desk and started writing pros and cons to joining the dark sides.
Pros:
-he wouldn't be alone
-he would be more respected
-he could still do his job while being a dark side
-he isn't easily corrupted
-he was logical
-he could leave if things got bad
-he liked Janus (not necessarily important)
Cons:
-he might be walking into a trap
-he isn't used to being around Remus
-emotions were hard to deal with
-he might not be able to help Thomas like he does now
-he might be corrupted
Logan looked over the list for a second time, he kept leaning one way and then another. His mind raced with emotions and logical reasoning till he felt exhausted.
"Logan!" Patton voice calls from outside the door," it's dinner time!" Logan was tired but knew if he didn't go down to dinner the others would be suspicious.
"Coming Patton," the logical side tells Patton. Logan collects himself and straightens his tie, he did a final check in the mirror before heading down stairs. He looked visibly tired and he felt it, the choice to become a dark side was tearing him apart. Logan reached downstairs to see Virgil reading on his phone and Roman flirting with Patton in the kitchen. Logan sat at the table and seconds later Patton puts food on the table.
"Thank you Patton for making dinner," Logan thanks the dad side.
"Your welcome logie," Patton cheerily answered. Patton has made a steak for them all, along with some vegetables because Logan always reminded the group that they needed to be healthy. A minute or so into the dinner, they were all talking about their day until the dreaded conversation about the events of this morning were brought up.
"So Logan," Roman started off," we have been talking."
"And we think it's wise if none of us talk to Janus or Remus unless absolutely necessary," Patton finishes.
"We can't trust either of them," Virgil added, some venom in his tone of voice. Logan tried his hardest to not be fazed by their words, he wondered to himself if they were possibly right but Janus has never really done anything too bad to any of the light sides.
"Do you agree Logan?" Roman asked sternly. Logan looked between each of the other sides, Patton looked kinda angry and so did Roman while Virgil looked more like a predator stalking its prey.
"I agree," he lies. In the back of his mind he knew what the others were saying wasn't right but he can't have them be suspicious of his behavior.
"Good!" Patton smiles at Logan's answer. The rest of dinner when well as the three talked, Logan was too lost in thought to give much attention to the others conversation. Once Logan had finished his meal he set his dish in the dishwasher and headed to his room. Logan immediately locked his door and paced back and forth, negative thinking was starting to affect him. How could they hate them so much? It was illogical for him to be emotional by this, so why did it affect him so much? He barely knew Janus and yet he felt safe around him. More excepted than he has ever been with the light sides. He was starting to feel panic setting in, shit he thought to himself. He leaned against the bed as breathing became hard for him. He felt like the walls were closing in, he was probably on the verge of a panic attack. Then a voice pulled him out of his emotional spiral, the voice was elegant and full of kindness.
"Logan are you ok dear?" Janus asked.
"No," Logan admits to Janus. Janus walked up to Logan and pulled him in for a hug. Logan relaxed into the deceitful side, soon Logan's stomach was filled of what could only be described as butterflies. Logan also felt his body become warmer as a blush crept its way across his face.
"What happened my darling?" Janus asked Logan.
"It's the others," Logan tells Janus," I can't take it being here anymore, if they found out I actually liked you and Remus...." Logan didn't dare finish that sentence, he was regaining control over his emotions again and had calmed down.
"Would you like to come live with Remus and I for a little?" Janus asked Logan. Logan looked at his desk at where his list sat, he went over the options one more time and made a decision.
"I would quite enjoy being able to live with you and Remus," Logan told Janus. Janus smiles and placed a gentle kiss on the logical side's head making Logan blush bright red.
"Can you give me till midnight to pack and write a note to the others," Logan asked Janus.
"Of course dear," Janus tells his crush," I'll come get you at midnight." Janus then sank back to the dark sides common room to tell Remus the happy news. Logan then started packing and planing, Logan made sure to write a note explaining to the light sides why he was going to live with the dark sides now. Soon midnight rolled around and Janus came to get Logan, Logan looked at Janus sadly. Logan didn't want to hurt the light sides with his decision, but Logan needed this. He then unlocked his door and whispered one last goodbye to his room.
"Are you sure you want to come dear?" Janus asked Logan. Logan smiles at the sympathetic snake and walked over till they were less than a foot apart.
"Absolutely," Logan told Janus. Janus extended his hand to the logical side, Logan picked up his suitcase and then took Janus hand. They sank down and soon arrived in the dark sides common room. Logan was half expecting the place to look like a mess, but was pleasantly surprised to find the place clean. The common room looked just like the light side's common room, the only difference was everything was darker.
"Hey ya Logan!" Remus shouts as he comes running down the hall that lead to the rooms.
"Salutations Remus," Logan greeted the overly excited creative twin. Remus then hugged the logical side, which made Logan tense up.
"Let poor Logan go Remus," Janus hissed.
"Fine!" Remus said over dramatically. Remus released the logical side and then sat on the coach looking sad. Logan chuckled at the behavior of the creative twin, then turned back to Janus who also had a smile on his face.
"Welcome to the dark sides," Janus stated as his fingers intertwined with Logan's. Logan gave a small squeeze lightly to thank the half snake, even though he had only just arrived. Logan has never felt more welcomed, he couldn't help but smile.
"Thank you both," Logan said to Janus and Remus.
"Let's go put your stuff in my room," Janus told Logan.
"Let's," Logan agreed.
