A/N: I have a new update plan of publishing the last part of the last case and the first part of the next so that you will have a week to guess who.

Deathbringer's POV

That was the only way to describe it.

An active war zone.

Gila, who was apparently female to day, was wearing some jewelry, holding a tray you would bake cookies on by her face, and was holed up in the pantry which was probably the only safe(ish) place left in the kitchen.

Apricot was hiding under the counter on the far side of the room. She was armed with two pairs of tongs and several different types of flours as well as anything else with in grabbing distance.

Gazelle waved and shouted something, but it was lost in the insults. Yes, along with several sharp, heavy, and poorly aimed kitchen tools that were constantly air born insults were also flying.

"You-", Your a-", and "-Moons." was the only words Deathbringer could decipher from all the yelling, crashing, and banging.

"I did not expect this." Sunny said, "Not at all."

From either side of the kitchen team Summer thorn and team Outcast were throwing things at each other. Things included cooking utensils, ingredients, towels, silverware, and insults. I'm surprised there's enough space left for air to breath, Deathbringer thought.

He entered the death arena. By the time he made it to the middle which was about two dragon lengths from the start he was covered head to tail in baking ingredients.

"STOP!" He yelled.

"WHAT HAPPENED?"

Sunny's POV

"Summer thorn was trying to order us around." Grumbled Gazelle.

"Outcast was trying to undermine her authority!" Lantern retorted.

"They were both trying to tell me what to do." Desolate summed up.

"Whose side were you even on?"

"Yeah, you were throwing things at everyone."

"I sided with team Desolate."

Everyone else: -_-

"Why did you guys turn the kitchen into a disaster zone?" Sunny questioned quickly.

"Summer thorn and Outcast were both trying to become assistant head chef but Coyote kept making little competitions and not choosing one so now with him dead we don't know who should take over. Some sided with Summer thorn, others with Outcast, Apricot and I hid, and Desolate sided with himself." Gila explained.

"How did the lead to the destruction of the kitchen?" Deathbringer asked.

"Summer thorn and Outcast started telling us to do contradicting things which led to an argument which led to a insults flying which caused objects to fly." Apricot filled in the rest.

"So you guys effectively turned this place into a wasteland in less than five minutes?" Sunny gaped

"Maybe ten." Fossil corrected.

"And all to be head chef right?" Deathbringer checked with a thoughtful look.

"For the most part, it's an important and well paying job" Gila said glancing at Desolate, "He probably just wanted to throw things."

"What are you thinking?" Sunny asked Deathbringer.

"Who else wanted to be head chef around when Coyote took over. Let's go talk to his family." That was the last intelligent thing he said before it happened again.
