Jasmine was silent as we rode to dinner with her parents and sister.The closer we got, the more fidgety she became.
"Jas."I rested my hand on hers
She instantly held it tightly.
"It's going to be alright baby."I told her
She nodded and looked out of the window.
When we arrived, we were the first ones there so we sat in the private room and waited.
"You feel okay?"I asked her
"Yeah Im fine.Thank you."She kissed my cheek
After a few minutes her sister and brother-in-law arrived.
"Oh my god I missed you."She hugged her sister
"Uhm this is Chris, my boyfriend."She said
I shook their hands and we all sat down.
"How are mom and dad late when they live here."Jordan shook her head
As she finished they arrived.

After introducing Chris to my parents, we all sat down and ordered our food.
"So Chris what do you do?"My dad asked
"I own a film production company.Jas and I met at a networking event actually."He said
His hand was planted comfortably on my knee.
"So you do well?"Mom asked
"Ma."I shook my head
Chris chuckled."No no it's okay.Yes ma'am I do.I'm definitely able to take care of Jasmine and I."
"Do you have any kids?"Jordan asked him
It felt like an interrogation.
"Yeah I do.A six year old named Sophia.She loves Jas."He said candidly
"That's good."Mom nodded
"I think that's enough questions for now."I said
My dad chuckled.
"Well we'll have to talk later then."He said
"Yes sir of course."Chris nodded
"So we brought you both gifts."I said
"Oooh.Hand it over."Jordan said
I nervously smiled and handed over two gift bags.Inside was a onesie and my ultrasound picture.

Chris smiled over at me as they opened the gifts.
