Lost

Chapter 14

Snape had been surprisingly quiet the whole lesson. Harry was not going to complain, but thought it rather suspicious. He knew for a fact that Snape would never pass up an opportunity to take points from Gryffindor, or to shout at Harry for no apparent reason.

Harry had been grouped with Hermione and Ron to practice expelliarmus, which made it easier to tell them the plan. He waited until Snape was out of earshot, still not trusting the fact that he would not scream at him, to talk to his best friends.

"Okay here's the plan, Ron you know where the Slytherin common room is, yeah?"

"Yeah I think so". Ron said nodding his head.

"Okay the password to get into there is 'purebloods' all you have to do is to look for the wall that is different to the rest". Hermione gave Harry an odd look, not understanding what he meant by that. "You will understand when you go down to the dungeons Hermione, calm down. Draco has made sure no one will say anything to you when you enter, so don't worry about that".

"I wonder how he's managed to do that?" Hermione questioned, glancing slightly at Snape, making sure he was still busy with Seamus and Dean.

"Honestly no idea Hermione, it was after I left the common room to find you lot this morning when he did it. Maybe he threatened them? He does that a lot doesn't he". Harry said glancing over to where Draco was with Pansy and Goyle, knowing full well he could hear him. Draco stuck his middle finger up at him playfully and Harry did it back, laughing gently.

"When you get into the common room you will easily see the steps leading up to the boys dorms. It's the left ones" Harry continued. "Follow the steps all the way up and then walk to the end of the corridor and say the words 'I am safe'. A door will appear. That's the door to Draco's room".

Harry had hoped to walk with them to his dorm but professor Slughorn had asked to speak to him as soon as classes ended. Harry had told Draco this at lunch and they had both agreed it would look odd if he was to take them to his dorm himself. So he told Harry to just explain to them how to get there.

"Okay, is Draco going to be there when we get there?" Hermione asked.

"Yeah, he's a fast walker, he'll be there way before you two". Harry said, perfectly performing a non verbal expelliarmus, aimed at Ron.

Ron shot him a glare as Harry caught his wand and then gave it back to him. Hermione looked away trying very hard not to laugh at the now moody ginger.

As soon as the bell rang Draco got up and walked out of the door. Harry, Hermione and Ron took their time getting ready to go, receiving glares from Snape as they did so. Harry went left out of the class, leaving Ron and Hermione to go right, down to the dungeons.

Ron watched Harry walk in the opposite direction, cursing him for not being able to go with them. He could not remember what the passwords were, so he turned to Hermione praying she had remembered.

"Hermione do you-"

"Do I remember what the passwords are? Yes Ron I do". Hermione said rolling her eyes. "Honestly Ron, if your head was not attached to your neck, I'm certain you would forget it".

"Can't disagree with you there 'mione". Ron said smiling widely.

The pair walked down the stone steps to the dungeons, immediately feeling the cold.

Hermione did exactly what Harry had said to do, find the wall that was different to the others, say the password and then enter.

Ron had at least remembered that the wall they were looking for was different to the rest, so he scanned the room looking for it. After a second he found it and said so to Hermione.
