On August 23rd, the news outlet Dispatch released information on EXO member, Kim Soonhye, better known as Suri. It leaked information of her and a fellow member of EXO having a child.

After Suri attended a variety show abroad, fans are now watching the show to see if these articles are true or false. When the news suddenly got back to the company in only a matter of hours, the company released a statement.

"Hello. This is SM Entertainment.

Members of the group EXO, Suri and Baekhyun, will be expecting a child. The celebrities shall not be bothered during this time with schedules unless stated otherwise.

To respect the families involved, no further questions will be answered by staff. We ask fans to remain polite and respectful to these idols.

Both idols will continue to work hard and come back to everyone better than before.

We ask you to send positive messages Suri's way.

Thank you."

Another source from SM confirmed that Suri is expecting a child, but didn't inform when. They stated that they are not close enough with the idol to know how far along she is or when she is due.

Suri then decided that the fans needed and explanation, though she knew this was nothing to be sorry for.

"Hello, this is Kim Soonhye,

I am writing to everyone through social media to inform you that, yes, everything surrounding me right now is true. I'm expecting a beautiful child soon, around October.

I don't know how to explain this to anyone, but I know this isn't what fans expected to happen early into my career with EXO.

Thank you for the support I have been receiving and hopefully I can come back to everyone with a more positive attitude and outlook on life.

Thank you, everyone!"
