You barged into the hospital room quicker than light, anxious to see your mother awake. You were trembling out of nervousness for a reason you couldn't put to words. Even though you had so much excitement to see her, you couldn't help but feel a sinking feeling in your stomach in case she wasn't as okay as you anticipated.

Your eyes lit up to the sight of your mom leaning up in bed and gazing out into the sunny window. Her bright eyes wide and filled with a mixture of concern and content.

"Mom!" You exclaimed, running to her side and placing a hand on the one by her side. It was warm and soft, just like always.

Tears couldn't help but fill your eyes as she looked in your direction with a smile forming across her lips. She took your hand in hers and squeezed it.

"Y/n! I'm so glad your okay!"

You wrapped your arms around her neck, hiding this falling tears in her soft hair.

Your mom squeezed you back, "Hey, everything's okay. I'm okay."

"I missed you so much. I was so worried," You managed to murmur out between sniffles. You pulling away, not able to meet her eyes as you vigorously wiped at your tear stricken eyes, "I-I saw it on TV. Then I ran and I just r-ran. I didn't know... I didn't know what to do, Mom. I w-was so confused and... and-"

Your mom cut you off, pulling you to her chest again and rubbing your back, "Hey... Its okay, Y/n. You did so well. You did so well... " She repeated a few times until your ragged breathing and trembling had stopped. The two of you pulled away and your mom still held onto your hands.

"If it weren't for you and those heroes, I might not be okay now."

You nodded and allowed your mom to softly wipe your tears away.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It would probably so traumatizing," You sighed, feeling guilty as if it was your fault. Or maybe it was sympathy you felt. If you were in her place you don't think you'd be as stable as she is now.

"I'm fine... really," Your mom had a smile on her face. You could tell it was genuine, but there was a bit of sadness behind it. To be honest you'd be a bit concerned if she was completely fine, even though that's how you wanted her to feel.

"You know what, Y/n? Let's get pastries after this, 'kay? I think that would lighten the mood a bit."

You took a deep breath, feeling relieved your Mom's attitude had regained to normal, "When can you leave the hospital?"

"The nurse said that technically I could leave now if I wanted," she raised her bandaged arm, "It's mostly healed up thanks to the nurses' quirks. They want me to stay an extra night just so I can rest a bit longer."

"So you think you'll be able to go tomorrow morning?"

Your mom nodded, tilting her head back and forth in order to stretch it, "Yeah, definitely."

You looked to the bandages on her neck, remembering when Stain had come so close to ending her neck with one slice, "How's the cut on your neck?"

"Once again, thanks to the nurses' amazing quirks, it'll probably only be a scar by now," touching the bandages on her neck, she smiled, "Speaking of, they fully captured, Stain, right?"

"Yeah they did, thankfully. He caused so much chaos. There were monsters everywhere."

"Nomus, right?"

You agreed with a nod and a gulp, remembering when that one nomu had almost taken your life if it weren't for Endeavor. As much as you cringed at the thought, you should've thanked him.

"How is Shoto?"

You blushed at his name, "Shoto's alright. He stayed by my side the whole time until I went home."

A smile spread across your mom's face, "He's so sweet. I hope none of this ruined any of our plans together."

You had almost forgot about him scheduled to come over this weekend... and the Christmas plans, "I hope not."

"You texted him I'm awake, right?"

Nodding, you said, "Yeah. I told him as soon as the hospital called. He said he wanted to come with me, but I insisted that he rest for a bit. Plus I thought I she see you on my own."

Your mom tightened her grip on your hand that you forgot she was holding, having gotten so comfortable, "He cares so much, Y/n. That's so kind."

You were unable to meet her eyes as you looked down at your hand gripping the edge of your sweatshirt. You cared so much for him too. You knew his situation was so much worse than this, or it used to be at least. You didn't know much about Shoto and his relationship with his dad now, but you would do anything in your power to protect him and be there for him... even if you couldn't do much.

"Can I sleep here tonight with you? I don't wanna leave again and be home alone." The emptiness of your home was much more haunting now. With your mom here, you wouldn't feel helpless if something happened. You'd be right there with her to help her.

"Of course. C'mere," your mom motioned to the bed with hand. You obliged, crawling up next to her and snuggling into the warm crook of her arm.

You exhaled a tense breath you seemed to be holding since the beginning of this mess. Your puffy eyes closed on there own from the exhaustion and the lack of sleep. The soft beats of your mom's heart beat were music to your ears. You felt comfort in the thought of her being alive and okay next to you.

"I can't wait for pastries tomorrow," she sighed.
