Chapter 29 🏇

Y/N P.O.V

I sigh as I leave Jimin's room and walk to my own.

I hate seeing him like this. I want to hug him and make him feel better, but he's in a battle with himself and only he can decide the outcome.. if I could know what he's feeling right now, I might be able to help him or get external help for him..

"So... How did it go? " Megs asks as I step into my room and close the door behind me.

" He um.. I- .. I don't know how I'm gonna do this.. " I say almost in a whisper.

Lisa gets up and embraces me in her arms and I hug her tightly.

"It's gonna be alright.. " She whispers into the hug and Gigi and Megs get up and slowly wrap their arms around us too. The hug engulfed me in a feeling of warmth and friendship.

They are always there for me no matter what and I couldn't ask for more. My friends are not perfect, or neat or tidy... my friends are those with enough love in their hearts to fight for and defend what is right.

They are the friends that see my spark and comes closer, loving me for who I am. And so, I thank God and every star above that we have made our way together, that our life paths are woven so intricately. They know that they have a piece of my heart, and that I will protect theirs.

I slowly break the hug and Megs says,
" Damn that felt good. "
We laughed a little and I said,
" Thank you guys.. for always being there for me. "
" Hey, it's what best friends do. " Gigi says and playfully punches my shoulder.

I look at the time and groan,
8:30 a.m
" I wanna go back to the academy. I missed out two whole days of training! "
" Yeah, and that guy who's with you seems to be a pretty good learner. " Gigi says.
" Taemin? " I ask with with furrowed eyebrows.
She nods and replies,
" Yeah. He learnt how to ride with a saddle in an hour. He's not an expert with it yet, he's just got the basics and for most people, that takes quite some time to master. "

So, he might be better than me.. I'll have to make sure I catch up with everything soon or I might never make it up the ranks.

Lisa turns to me and says,
" Y/N, there is a problem.. you've got crystal, right? "
I nod and she continues,
" Well, you saw how she was that day and I know that if she doesn't trust someone yet, she will refuse to let that person come near her. So gaining her trust is gonna take some time for you too.. "

I groan and say,
" Ugh ! So much time for everything! Can't I just change my horse? "
She shakes her head saying,
" Once a horse is assigned to you, you can't change it unless you climb the ranks. Right now, crystal is a horse for beginners so she'll always stay in that position. You will go through multiple horses by the time you reach the place you want to. "

" Did Night pass the test? " I ask impatiently.
" Fortunately, yes. "
I release a sigh of relief as I close my eyes.
Good job boy.. it's only a matter of time before you're mine again.

" Is there a way I can find out who his rider is? " I ask.
" Yeah, there's a notice board when you enter that states any competition or selections that's been happening, so all the new horses and their assigned riders will be there. " Gigi says.
I nod my head and sigh,
" Ok.. I've just gotta motor to get to the top. "

" Y/N you have to take your time. You cannot rush things like this. Bonding with your horse is the first thing you have to do, whether it's the horse you want or not. If you don't bond with your horse, you'll never be able to get through the other stages easily. Riding is a two-way sport, you have to understand your horse and your horse has to understand you. " Megs says.
