It had been almost five months since the incident, despite the now healed scar, Yazoo and Loz noticed that Kadaj and (Y/n) were becoming very close. It started with leaving red roses on Kadaj's side of the bed when he had to get up early and leave before she woke up.

"Kadaj?" Yazoo called, but was instantly shushed.
"Don't wake her." Kadaj whispered, placing a singular red rose on his pillow. Before he stood straight up, he fixed the blacket so it was completely covering her.

"Excessive, much?" Yazoo whispered, making Kadaj roll his eyes.
"Shut it." Kadaj hissed, finally walking out of the room and closing the door.

"You know," Yazoo started, "We won't be gone long."
"I know." Kadaj said, "It's just for her."
"Do you always leave a rose on the pillow for our guests?" Yazoo asked, sarcastically.
"Obviously not." Kadaj answered, but Yazoo couldn't help but smirk.

"So, you just want to make her happy?" He asked, Kadaj went to nod but stopped himself.
"Can we not talk about this?"
"Whatever you say, flower man." Yazoo smirked, walking away.

Then, it expanded to watching them take a walk around their small house, surprisingly Loz was the first to notice. Well, he pointed it out, not completely understanding what it meant.

Kadaj stood by the house, watching (Y/n) feed small birds that approached the house. He smiled at her, watching the tiny birds land on her hand and take the seed. She would look back at Kadaj, and wave to him, motioning for him to come over to where she was. He pushed himself off the house, where he was leaning and walked over to her. (Y/n) then placed the seed in his hands, a bird landed on her hand and then jumped onto his hand to eat the seed.

Kadaj smiled widely at this, looking at (Y/n) and giving her a look of pure joy. (Y/n) went to Kadaj, she held up her hand for the bird to jump on, which it did. Then she placed the bird on Kadaj's head, making him give her a look of confusion.

"Hey, Yazoo. Look!" Loz called, getting Yazoo's attention.
"What is it?" Yazoo asked, looking out the window where Loz was pointing.
"(Y/n) got Kadaj to feed the birds, and look!" Loz pointed, him and Yazoo almost started to laugh. They saw multiple birds on Kadaj's head, and arms, with (Y/n) giggling at this.

Kadaj couldn't help but smile as (Y/n) gave him a look that he had never seen before. It was so kind, so..loving. She had never looked at him like that before, it made his heart race and his cheeks began to colour. He did seem to catch (Y/n) looking at him more often, and she would catch him doing the same. Yes, this wasn't a fairy tale, and even if it was, he wasn't the prince that would get the girl in the end, he was the bad guy. The monster.

He was the monster that stole the girl, as she awaited her true love to come and save her and slay the monster. Kadaj sighed, he watched her look up at the sky. The sun caught her eyes in a way that made them sparkle even more, making his knees weak. She would glance his way, and give him a loving stare. But, he shook it off, literally, making the birds fly away.

(Y/n) couldn't understand these feelings that were bubbling up from inside her, they were strange, alarming, and confusing. She could feel a growing attraction for Kadaj, it was small but now she could feel it getting bigger. Multiple times he caught her staring at him, but oh how her heart would flutter everytime she caught him staring. (Y/n) looked down at the ground, she picked up a hand full of snow and started to push it together. She looked over at Kadaj, who seemed to be in his own little world, but he shook his head, making the birds fly away.

(Y/n) then readied her aim, and threw the snowball at Kadaj. The snowball landed right on his head, making him jump in surprise and the cold snow coming In contact with his skin. From inside the house, Kadaj could hear his brothers start to burst out laughing. Kadaj turned his head to see (Y/n), giggling while hiding behind the tree. Kadaj then bent down and started to pick up snow, making (Y/n) retreat behind the tree.
