"...What?" [ Name ]'s voice cracked as a hopeful smile spread on her face. No, this was impossible. It was all a joke, right? It had to be! This was just a prank, now they'll just shout 'sike' and burst into laughing fits over it the next few weeks, right?
...Right?
Her eyes were pleading, but Ayano's teary eyes and her lip that was bleeding from bitting it too hard were telling her that this wasn't just a prank. It was... True.
"I wish I was joking, [ Last name ]-san..." She sighed, placing her hand on [ Name ]'s shoulder, her eyes avoiding her gaze.
"B-But how? Why? Does... Does it really have to break?" Her hands were shaking-no, her entire body was. It was getting harder to breathe... Her chest was aching.
Her cheeks were streaked with tears in less than a minute. The entire team saw this coming.
[ Last name ]'s breaking point.
"...Atsumu... Could you please?" Ayano asked the setter who was there to witness the entire thing. He and [ Name ] were friends, he knew how much the club meant to her. She loved soccer with her entire being, and the friends she made right in this gym... She loved them.
This entire moment was just as if [ Name ]'s world was crumbling down on her. She knew she couldn't do anything about it, but...
Was it selfish that she wanted it to last a little longer?
The joy that would bring back her energy after a long game, the happiness that displayed on her teammate's faces as the captain would pull them all in for a hug.
Their usual routine of going on a food run after evening training, where they'd be laughing at the dumb things they'd randomly recall, tease Yui's innocence, fluster [ Name ] over her crush on Atsumu, or just laugh over memes and referenced vines.
She wanted to be able to say how much she loved their club just a bit longer. Was that... Too much to ask for?
The Miya nodded as he pulled [ Last name ] into his arms, not caring if his shirt got wet. She was always there for him, she always made sure to treat his wound when he got injured, or help him make up to Osamu after their fights. The least he could do was be her shoulder to cry on, and try to get her to calm down at least a bit.
He was informed about this beforehand, so he knew to bring some snacks and money.
Picking the [ Hair color ]-head up bridal style, before he took her to the rooftop. Once there, he sat on one of the benches, sitting the girl in his lap. Her cheeks and eyes were red and puffy, the pain was clear in her [ Eye color ] orbs.
"[ Name ]-chan...?" He breathed as he rubbed circles on her back. Her hands were placed on his shoulders as her face was buried in the crook of his neck.
She let out a questioning hum, not looking up at him. She liked his touch, and she liked him. She felt a bit better already.
"I'm really sorry that you're going through this... Is there anything I could do to make you feel a bit better?"
Atsumu knew how to be patient and comforting with people he cared about, and [ Name ]'s stability was his priority at the moment. He wanted her to feel as comfortable as possible.
She was quiet for a few moments, the few moments of her just appreciating his thoughtfulness. The thoughtfulness that made her fall in love with him.
"...Can we... Stay like this... just a little longer?" Her voice was quiet, perhaps the request was a bit too much. Perhaps he had duties to do. Yet all he did was smile and pull her closer so that she could hear his heartbeat.
"We can stay as long as you need."
