8: Bad Ideas

Once we had gotten back to mystic falls Damon drove me straight to Alaric's place where Kai was passed out on a gurney he said we had to keep an eye on him. "So what are you guys gonna do with him?" I mentioned feeling uncomfortable in the silence "we're waiting until Jo is strong enough to beat him" he answered rolling his eyes

"you don't think she can do it do you?" I ask and he shakes his head "nope" he says popping the p "Well you're probably right" I sighed and he looked at me surprised putting down whatever he was messing with and turning towards me. "What?" I question looking at him

"I just thought you would be all 'she can do it we can help her win' just like Liv" he admitted and I chuckle humorlessly walking in the kitchen area "What's the point in that? We all know she isn't strong enough, no matter how much we all wish she was" I announced

"are you okay?" I hear him ask and I nod even though he can't see me "I've never felt better" I look at him once he walked in after me "Caroline called me earlier" I mumble changing the subject and he sighs "Liz is going to be fine" Damon dismisses my comment making me cross my arms "what do you actually think" I breathed

He looks at me frowning slightly before the look turned into one of anger "I think Caroline was being stupid and irrational and now Liz is going to die!" He screams running a hand threw his hair in frustration "you really think there's no way of saving her?" I continued and he shrugged "well-" he was cut off by his phone ringing

Quickly he answered and I leaned back on the counter "I'll be right there" is all I hear before he hangs up and smiles at me apologetically "I have to go something came up" he says and I sigh heavily "I'll watch Kai don't worry" I say and he nods walking towards the door "we'll uh, talk later" he says before opening the door and closing it behind him

"I guess it's just you and me psycho" I say to passed out Kai knowing he can't hear me "well I guess I can't really call you that anymore sense I killed my family too" I mumble to myself walking over to him I look down at his body "I wonder if you still have some of that traveler spell magic in you"

I ask aloud before moving my fingers around his wrist and focusing on his pulse before I feel the magic rush over me like a breath of fresh air "I guess you do I mean did" I chuckle before stepping back and sitting down on the couch. Kai sitting is the most boring thing ever.

After a awhile I saw Tyler burst in running towards Kai "hey whoa what are you doing?" I ask and he looks at me surprised "Lila? Where have you been?" He asks and I shrug "out and about" I answered moving towards him "what are you doing?" I ask again looking at him then Kai

"It's Liv's and Luke's birthday" he says looking at me with pleading eyes "so you're getting Kai to merge with Jo today so they don't have to?" I ask and he nods frantically "yes exactly please help me I know you don't want your best friends dying" he pleads as I look between him and Kai

"Where are Luke and Liv?" I ask "they're with their dad trying to convince him to let them out of the merge" he says moving closer to Kai "listen Tyler if their dad doesn't let them out we'll knock him out tie him up and put him in that closet" I say pointing to the closet next to us

"There's no way I'm letting him take my best friends even if it means killing him" I say and I look at Tyler as he looks back at me wide eyed "I definitely wasn't expecting that answer" I hear him say before damon burst in "Lockwood I'm so not in the mood-"

Before he can finish I grab the pole thing holding the stuff that Kai was hooked up to and hit Tyler across the face knocking him out cold on the floor "handled" I mumble before looking up at Damon placing the thing back on the floor and smiling at him sweetly

"Not expecting that" he says eyeing me "Your not the first" I respond and he walks towards me "what was he here for" he asks and I roll my eyes "oh you know just stoping to say hi" I say sarcasm laced in my every word "what did he want with Kai"

He asks ignoring my statement "he wanted to let him merge with Jo because today is the twins birthday" I say and damon stares at Kai obviously thinking of something "what?" I ask and he walks towards him unhooking the wires "I have a really bad idea" he says looking back at me

"Take any magic he has left" he tells me and I cross my arms "already did" I answer as Kai starts to shift slightly. Damon crouches down taking Tyler's phone and dialing someone "what are you up to" I whisper looking at him then Kai... Last time I saw him he kissed me then stole Liv's magic from me..... I guess pay back is in order right?

"Rise and shine you little weasel" damon says to Kai as he shakes himself awake then he lifts his hand wanting to do that vain popping thing but of course it didn't work "oh trying to pop a blood vessel in my brain, not gonna work it looks like all that magic you sucked up drained away while you were asleep which is good for me, but don't worry I know where you can get more"

Damon says wait what does he mean get more don't we want him not to have magic? I think to myself as Kai gets up looking at Damon then me he chuckles "you really think I'm gonna trust you?" He asks looking at Damon "you don't have to trust me you just have to trust her"

He says making my eyes go wide as he points to me "what?" Kai and I both ask simultaneously looking at each other then Damon "you think I don't know about your little date before you made Jo take her magic back? I mean c'mon what else could you have been doing in there?"

I narrow my eyes at Damon "like hell I'm letting you get me wrapped up in this mess" I grumble walking off before Damon grabs my wrist a little to tight making me stop and wince slightly "Damon let go" I warn and he looks at me dead in the eye "I don't have time for you to agree. Your going along with it"

He commands before I pull my wrist away from him "No" I say sternly before suddenly damon grabs my hand and places my body against his chest with his hand over my neck ready to snap it all at vampire speed making me close my eyes "wait stop!" I hear Kai scream I open my eyes and look at his concerned face?

Is he worried? About me?

Why would he?

"What do you want exactly?"
