LOVE. That was the word of topic for this chapter. Love is a very strong word. This word could be used for either good or bad. It was something that Disney never fails to mention and has touched the hearts of people. Love is a word that people sometimes cringe on when they hear or see someone not use it properly. Albeit all the different descriptions of this simple word, it was still a mystery to a lot.

Love has been represented as many things and has also caused a lot of heartbreaks. This sole word is the reason of why Joel had left his own colony to embark on a risky journey. However, he wasn't the only one who used that reason to come to this journey. Aurora Kingsley is also the victim of the word and has chosen to endanger her whole life for the person to blame on why she accompanied him to this travel. Perhaps it was a pure act of absolute idiocy or it was a decision of heart to find her destiny. Whatever it was, she was still figuring it out. Only time will tell.

As for the mention of time. It really has been moving fast for them. The quintuplets has trekked for several days now. The days which considered of them training Joel to learn how to use his weapons and how to survive in the wilderness. And the group is very happy to say that Joel has made a lot of progress. He learned how to shoot properly and not entirely miss. Hell, he can even get a bullseye now, courtesy of Minnow and Joel's constant nagging to Aurora on how she has to teach him since she almost never misses her shots. After a lot of persuading and blackmailing, Aurora finally taught him with the help of Minnow, making him very happy on how he convinced her to be by his side twenty-four seven. And he feels his heart always flutter everytime she compliments him. She was always been there every step of the way and has always been by his side to guide and support him.

As he learned the abundant rules of survival like lesson three: don't take shortcuts. That was the best memory. Aurora's words when she saw the way they were headed was a string of curses that could even make a witch shy. It was a gooey lake that even Boy didn't want to walk through. After lots of hesitance from nervousness, Joel finally got the courage to tell her that he can give her a piggy-back ride. Of course Aurora agreed without a second thought. It was even amusing to her when she saw Joel trying so hard on not to complain about how heavy she was that he turned red. At least that was what she thought was the reason of his reddening. When in truth, Joel was blushing because Aurora's breath was so warm on his neck that it sent shivers down his spine.

At these times, all of them had bonded really well that they can now even say that they were all close. The lot of them developed a strong connection between each other, mostly Joel since he was the only one who was unfamiliar with his saviors. As they journeyed across the different lands and learned about things, all of them also grew as a person. Contemplating here and there, swirls of thoughts clouded their minds on endless possibilities that might happen. But the worst of them was Aurora's.

Her thoughts were an absolute mess, everything was out of place. She didn't know what to think about and she sometimes gets confused about why she spaces out. It was a whirlwind of endless emotions, darkness sometimes lingering in the corner. Dreaming without really dreaming about how she was with the one who holds her thoughts. Lots of words that she wishes to say but they still remain untold. The bright light that was preserved for a very long time now was slowly fading, losing its brightness. It was a light that served as her motivation for the years that she had stayed in the bunker. The light that made her want to do more and show them that she was the best. And that light was now slowly losing itself, getting lost as the darkness in the nooks and crannies in her mind creeps from their spot to replace their opposite. The more she thought, the more the light was fading. Only reason is because her thoughts were about how the journey was going to end, her pessimist child self leisurely taking its place back, making the light —also known as her hope, begin to perspire. Because after all, who was she to assume that things would end up with her being the winner. She was even making nonexistent battles in her head.
