Fundy looked up into the crazed eyes of his father as he felt the diamond blade pierce and leave his skin. He brought his hand to his chest and winced, coming into contact with the wound. A tear slipped down his matted fur. Wilbur also had tears streaming down his face as he seemed to realize what he did. Fundy could hear the sword clatter to the ground, though it felt far away. He broke eye contact with his father when his vision blurred from blood loss. He fell forward and tried to catch himself with his arms. Wilbur got down on his knees, picking up Fundy and holding him close. He could hear Fundy's breathing get thinner until it stopped altogether as he clutched the dead boy in his arms. "I'm sorry, my son..."
