look outside!!

i'm in class??

Carlton looked up from his phone and looked out the window, eyes widening. Evelyn waved as she smiled. She called him over, sliding her phone into her coat pocket. Everyone had just entered the classroom and the teacher was writing the schedule for the day on the board. He looked back at her and she grinned.

He picked his notebook back off of the desk and swung his backpack over his shoulder as he quickly walked out of the classroom with the teacher's back to the class.

He ran down the halls and out the closest exit where Evelyn had come to wait. He rolled his eyes as he wrapped his arms around her, lifting her a little as they kissed. "What the fuck?" he asked with a chuckle.

"I came to surprise you!" He laughed and kissed her again. "You can go back to class now, if you want," she whispered, trailing her fingertips of her t-shirt. He chuckled.

"Mhm, nice one." She smiled and reached up to kiss him once more before stepping back and taking his hand.

"Any tests today?" she asked him. He shook his head, following her down the school parking lot as he shoved his stuff into his bag. "Perfect- me neither."

"We're both skipping?"

"It took me forever, to find your stupid school, Carlton," she sighed as he caught up with her on the sidewalk. They were actually leaving. "I wanted to surprise you before you got into first period."

"Do your parents know you're skipping?" he asked. She gave him a small smile as they stopped at a bus stop.

"I called myself in sick," she said with a giggle. His eyes widened as he smiled. "I pretend to be my mom."

"Babe!" She laughed and pulled out her phone.

"And now it's your turn." He smiled as she looked up his school's number up as they got onto the bus and sat.

He watched mesmerized as she talked on the phone, pretending to be his mother as she called him in sick for the day, dismissing him out of all of his classes. "You really-"

"This is so fun," she sighed, leaning against his shoulder as they found seats on the empty bus, right at the back. He took her hand.

"And where are we going?" She shrugged.

"Wherever this bus takes us?" He looked around and chuckled softly.

"I didn't even see what bus we got on," he said with a smile. She looked up at him. "Thanks for the surprise, Evelyn," he whispered.

"You're very welcome." They sat in silence for a moment. "Hey?"

"Yeah?"

"Should we go to that coffee shop?" she asked. "You know when- when we met, you spilled it all-"

"I remember," he said, cutting her off. She laughed.

"Yeah- I want to try some of that, it smelled good." He chuckled. "Smells, I should say- since my physics notes are still-"

"I said sorry!" he laughed. She kissed his cheek and he stood. "I'll go ask the bus driver where this thing's going and we'll go," he said. She smiled as she pulled her hat over her ears probably. It was starting to snow a little harder.

She sat with her hands in her pockets as the bus driver and Carlton spoke about the direction of the bus and he got a transfer for them both as he returned. "So?"
