A month earlier...(a few days after the ball)

Draco's POV:

It's been a few days since the ball...that was the best night I'd had in so long. I never told anyone...but I looked forward to that night since my 6th year.

I continued my days like any other breakfast, class, lunch, class, dinner, quidditch practice/game depending on the day...

Great Hall 7:30pm

I sat down at the table to grab something to eat before quidditch practice...our coach prefers to practice later in the days

After dinner i went to my dorm to get changed

I peeled off my robe and clothes to change into my quidditch uniform

There was a knock at my door

"Draco...it's Blaise...seems your mail got mixed up with mine...it's a letter from mumsy..." he said lowly

I opened the door while attempting to put on my uniform

"What? Why would she be writing me?" I asked grabbing the letter

"I'm not sure mate" he patted my shoulder

I waved my hand for him to come in

He shut the door and stood awaiting fir me to open it

Blaise and I both knew something must be wrong...our parents didn't send letters unless something happened or will happen.

My dear Draco,

I know it is out of the ordinary for me to be writing you at such a time.

I hope this year has been well for you. I'm very excited for you to come back and join us for Christmas. Blaise is more than welcome to join with us again. I know his mother let us know he would be staying at school this year because they had "business."  To attend

Your father does as well. It will just be you and I for Christmas.

I have to talk to you in private...I've sent out for you to come home this weekend...your father will be away...I have something you'll need to know.

It involves protection for your...sweet friend

Olivia Jade.

I can't go into details until this weekend.

With love,

Mumsy

My stomach dropped immediately  when I seen olivia's name.

Blaise could tell something she wrote in that letter caught me off guard

"Is everything okay mate?" He seemed concerned

I handed him the letter and let him read himself

"Olivia? What's wrong with Olivia?" He asked me

"I'm...I'm not  sure...she seemed fine today...like nothing was wrong" I said as I thought back through today.

"I do appreciate the Christmas invite though" Blaise chuckled to lighten the mood

"I'll come with you this weekend...if that's okay mate" he was looking at the letter then back at me

"Yeah...yeah...that'll be good" I was stuttering and trying to form a sentence

It was hard to focus right now.

That weekend

Blaise and I use floo powder to transport ourselves to the manor without suspicion

Once when we're both at the manor we were greeted by mumsy
