PLEASE COME TO DINNER Chloe begs me

"He's going to be there Chlo"

"No he's not I promise, he said that he was taking Ellie out on a date so he would be home late"

"Are you sure?" I ask her

"I'm 100%, and you can leave if he's there"

"Fine, but only because I love you, and you are the best to Violet"

"YES! Thank you!" She replies and hugs me from the front seat of the car

"Now go to school," I say and I push her out the car, and she smiles blowing me a kiss before walking into the school grounds, oh what I would do to be back in high school before life got so complicated

"Now time for our day isn't that right baby" I reply

We have a busy day today. I need to get to the shops to grab a few things for Violet, she's getting so big she is pretty much out of her newborn clothes, we need baby wipes and things to stock her baby bag, and Scarlett said she needed some toiletries.

Jane also needs her dry cleaning to be picked up, and after that, I will drop her off with mum and head to work

"Right, let's go," I say and I begin to drive to the shopping centre. I have to pull over 5 minutes in and find a place to park because Violet begins to scream. I quickly feed her and change her nappy before we continue on and she falls asleep quickly.

I find a car park easy since I am eligible to use the pram parking spot, and I click Violets car seat into the frame for her stroller

"Now, we need wipes and clothes for the baby" I sing a song to her while walking into the grocery store. We only spend 20 minutes there, and I grab what Scarlett needs before I pay and walk across the department store to collect Jane's washing. I then make the short commute home and drop the baby off with my mum before I head to the office

"Good morning Holl," I say waving to Holly "Lindsay, Dana" I reply nodding scanning my badge heading up to the top floor, and I knock on Janes office before walking in

"Ah there she is, hello dear"

"Hey Jane," I say and lift up her dry cleaning "All collected, and I put the fee on your tab, which needs to be paid by the end of next week"

"Superb! What is this I hear about you coming for dinner" she says

"Chloe asked, and I delivered"

"Wonderful," she replies, pulling me into a tight hug.

...

I arrive at the Shepherd household at 5 pm, after I finished my day at work, bathed Violet and got myself showered and ready. Luckily Scarlett's family asked her to come over so I don't feel too bad leaving her alone.

However I notice that Jax's car was in the driveway however I brush it off since Chloe said he is out to dinner, and I walk up to the front door and knock on the door, I hear footsteps and I door opens, and it's Jax

"Uh hey," I say

"Hello" he replies

"What are you doing here?" we both say at the same time

"You go," he says

"Your family invited me over for dinner," I say

"Right" he replies and he rubs his hand behind his neck

"Why are you here, I thought you had dinner with your girlfriend"

"Oh, a friend of hers lives here and she was only free tonight, so we're going out tomorrow night"

"Oh," I say

"I guess you should come in," he says

"Yes please" reply and I haul the baby carrier and the baby bag inside the house into the kitchen, where Chloe and Jane are preparing dinner

"Good evening," I say to them and they look up, so I glare at Chloe

"Hey darling," Jane says

"Chloe, you, me and the living room now," I say and I place the baby bag down and Chloe follows me into the living room

"I thought you said he wouldn't be here" I whisper yell

"I know I'm sorry I didn't think he was," she says

"Oh God," I say

"You are going to stay right"

"I don't know" I reply before Jax walks into the living room

"Uh, hey, again," he says and Chloe takes this as an opportunity to take the baby carrier and walk out of the room, I shoot daggers at the back of her head and sit down on the couch, Jax does the same. We fall into an uncomfortable silence

"So you have a baby" Jackson then says breaking the silence

"Uh yes," I say clearing my throat

"How old is she?"

"She will be 2 months old in a couple of days," I say

"Right... and you're working with mum?"

"Um yes, I'm her assistant, I take a few college classes too, but they are ending next week"

"Oh, it seems you have been busy since the last time I saw you"

"Yes, I guess it does" I reply

We fall back into silence and I hear a car pull in the driving, with Ellie waltzing into the room a few minutes later

"Sheppie! I've been looking for you everywhere, I've missed you baby"

"Here I am," he says and she moves to sit on his lap "How was dinner"

I half-smile and I clear my throat

"Oh wow, it's you," she says sneering ignoring his question

"You know what, I think I'm going to leave.." I say and I get up

"No, it's fine stay," Jax says

"It's fine Jax," I say "Really don't worry about it," I say and I get up heading to the kitchen

"Hey," I say to Jane who is peeling carrots and potatoes, I peer out the window and Chloe has Violet firmly in her arms, she is talking to their older sister Amber, she's in her last year of Law school.

"Oh hey dear, is everything alright"

"Yes, Just some small issues" I reply and I sit opposite her, and she smiles sadly at me and places a hand under my chin

"It'll all work out darling, he won't be here for much longer," she says and I smile at her

"We'll be fine," I reply "Now, did you need any help?" I ask before I busy myself in preparing dinner, whilst someone has Violet.
