"well. this is impeccable timing."
jihoon crossed his arms, closing his eyes and exhaling.
soonyoung's eyes cautiously darted around the room. "uh, what's going on? why are all of you so..."
"sorry i'm late! i-woah."
seokmin stopped mid-doorway, frowning.
"what's up with the tension? it feels like i could cut the air with a butter knife," he chuckled, sitting next to soonyoung.
he stared at the older for answers, to which soonyoung shrugged. "these four have been oddly cold."
"look, i'm not going. don't make me repeat myself a third time," jeonghan said, standing up.
"sit down," seungcheol retorted. "you're coming whether you like it or not."
"jeonghan?" jisoo grabbed onto his boyfriend's hand. "don't give up like that. we can negotiate a bit more."
"shuji," jeonghan sharply inhaled, facing jisoo. "i don't want to negotiate with him, okay? i want out."
jisoo nodded curtly, looking away. he knew better than to fuel the fire.
"you're not getting out," seungcheol replied. "sit back down."
in the past week since their last interaction, seungcheol and jeonghan had grown increasingly hostile towards each other. granted, all jeonghan wanted was for seungcheol to give him space, but the boy's obvious desire to be forgiven and him pestering jeonghan everywhere caused something to snap in jeonghan. since then, seungcheol had given up on forgiveness, jeonghan had given up on distance, and all their interactions had been passive-aggressive, leaving the entire camp wondering what occurred between the previously tight friends. jihoon and jisoo had come to an agreement to not speak on it either, and feigned ignorance whenever asked.
"seriously. what's going on with you two?" seokmin asked. "and you, you guys know what happened, right? hiding it is no use."
"we know about as much as you do," jisoo lied.
"nonsense. i can see it on your face-"
"shut up, seokmin," jeonghan interrupted, irritated. "if you're so fucking curious, i'm done with this fucking camp and this fucking counselor."
jeonghan slammed the planner that had been lying on the chair next to him on the desk beside seungcheol, and walked out with a huff.
seokmin blinked. jeonghan had never even looked at him in a negative light before, much less spoken to him in such a way. soonyoung immediately came to rub circles on seokmin's back.
"yoon jeonghan!" seungcheol yelled, suddenly enraged. jihoon rushed to seungcheol's side, grabbing his shoulders.
"let him go, hyung. don't be the bad guy here."
"and you're saying jeonghan is?" jisoo cocked an eyebrow.
jihoon rolled his eyes. he and jisoo were no strangers to petty arguments, all because they were on different sides. while both of them wished the two would just suck it up and accept each other back, neither was willing to admit their side was worse than the other's, always finding an excuse to prove otherwise.
