His apartment complex didn't look as beaten and worn down as the others in this neighborhood. It looked pretty normal to me. He lived on the seventh floor out of eight. The view was breathtaking. The city lights looked like stars because of the rain. I smiled, enjoying the moment, even though I was still getting drenched from the rainfall.

"Maddie, are you going to stand in the rain waiting to get sick or.." he chuckled. His hair and clothes sucking on to his wet skin.

"It's beautiful," I said pointing over the city lights. He smiled half heartedly.

"C'mon ," he said while grabbing my wrist and pulling me upstairs. I followed him till I was out of breath.

"So many flights of stairs left," I gasped dramatically.

"Maddie we're almost there stop overreacting."

Once we got to the seventh floor I was out of breath and dizzy. He motioned towards door 101 and opened it.

Suddenly, a cool bust of air enveloped me from the humid and mucky air outside. He flicked on the lights. His apartment was surprisingly organized. I never thought he was the clean type. Maybe it's my mother's depiction of men that has ruined mine.

"Are you surprised?" He questioned, his eyebrows pulling towards each other. I chuckled and nodded.

He gave me a small tour of his place. It was very cozy and had a homey feeling to it. He had a bedroom and a bath and a cramped kitchen but it was fit to fulfill its purpose. It was a good size for a man his stature and lifestyle.

"Nice place," I wonder aloud. We were in his bed room. His bed was nicely made. He had a few jackets sprawled here and there but I am pretty certain he was more organized than me.

He had a wall that was covered by a bookshelf filled with tons of hard cover books and some paperbacks here and there. I'm not sure how long it would take to read them all. It was surprising to see.

"Since when do you read?" My eyes wandered back to him.

"Since I was a kid."

"You never told me that," I replied shaking my head.

"You never asked," he retorted jokingly.

"Here," he said handing me a towel and some clothes. "Go shower."

"What do you like to read?" I questioned avoiding his demand.

"We will talk about that later," he motioned me towards his bathroom and turned on the light. "Shower first." He closed the door behind me not letting me finish.

I started peeling off my drenched shirt. Revealing my lacy bralette and undies. I cringed. He saw me in this earlier. The embarrassment my stomach slumped with.  It complimented my skin tone nicely. I will still be confused as in how he picked this set for me. Was it random? Or did he think I would like it? I shook my head trying to get rid of unnecessary thought.

The shower was hot and calming. I used his shampoo and conditioner which smelled just like him, (forest and spearmint). I have to say I'm surprised he doesn't have a 3 in one product. I'm glad he has shampoo, conditioner, and a body wash.

After I was done with my shower I slipped into the oversized Ramones t shirt and baggy sweatpants that would roll off if I didn't tie the string tight enough. I placed my wet clothes in a plastic bag he has given me along with the clothes.

I dragged my exhausted body into Adams bedroom and rubbed eyes. A good nights rest was needed but I didn't think that was going to happen since my thoughts were getting the best of me and I wasn't going to sleep in my bed.

After Adam showered. I peeped at the books he had on his bookshelf. There were dozens of mystery and sci-fi books. A small grin grew on my lips. I've known this man forever and now is that I come to know about his book obsession? He also had copies of some books I had. Adam always seemed to surprise me.

Suddenly, Adam came into my view. He walked into the bedroom with a mug in his hand. I quickly hid the book I had in my hand in the bookshelf and kept my fingers intertwined behind my back. He was shirtless and his body was catching every single speck of my attention. I hide my gaze with my hands and gasped.

"Maddie you've seen me like this before," he chuckled. He cackled loudly. I shook my head, my hands still hovering over my eyes.

He pulled my hands out of my face and rolled his eyes. I gulped trying not to stare at his body but at his face. Why do I put myself in situations where I can't control myself?

"I made you some tea," he said, handing me the pipping hot mug. I smiled at him. He sure did know how much I loved tea. Never Iced tea.

I awkwardly sat on his bed. He followed me and sat down beside me. He was staring at the wall like if his mind was filled with roaming thoughts. He wasn't present, but he was present in his own reality.

"Maddie," he sighed, his gaze still glued to the wall. I took more than a sip of the tea and set it down next to his night stand.

"Yes Adam?" I say, observing him.

"Why did you kiss me?" He whispered focusing his eyes on my weary one. I felt my mouth turn dry and I couldn't help but avert my gaze and fidget with my fingers. I had to come up with a good lie and lie.

"I'll tell you but promise me you won't laugh at me." I warn, giving him a death glare. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms across his chest.

"Maddie you know you can tell me anything." He ruffled my hair making it unruly and messy. I groaned fixing my hair.

I had to come up with something so before I could think of anything  further I blurted out loud, "I wanted my first kiss to be done with already. I was tired of being eighteen without having kissed anyone."

His lips parted and he slightly gasped. He seemed incredibly confused, but yet again what was he expecting? I was always doing the unexpected.

"So that's why you kissed me?" He asked confused.

I nodded and averted my gaze. I'm pretty sure he was judging me so hard right now that I couldn't help but come up with everything he was thinking about.

"Maddie," he said pressing his fingers to my chin and turning my head towards him. His face was emotionless but underneath all that blankness I saw a small hint of amusement. Once he noticed that I saw his reaction a small smirk grew on his mischievous face. I was sure that my lie wasn't convincing at all and he knew there was more to it.

"Now I know that's why you kissed me but why did you call me daddy?"
