The next night after detention, instead of going back to my dorm, I am sneaking off to the astronomy tower.

My hand is still stinging, fresh from that bloody quill.

I had wondered why Draco asked me to meet in the astronomy tower, because there was usually at least one person in the astronomy tower studying every night, even this late, but I realized why at around 7:30.

It got real cloudy and started pouring. No one would be able to see the stars in this weather.

When I get to there, Draco is sitting on the floor looking in a telescope. When I enter he looks at me.

"What do you see?" I ask him.

"Not much." He responds.

"Why do you want me to meet you here?"

"I want a rematch." He says, gesturing to a Wizarding Chess board I hadn't noticed yet.

"You're on."

I sit down next to him and we begin to play.

Fifteen minutes later, he lost.

"I want another rematch."

"Fine. But let's make this a little more interesting."

"What would you like to bet on?"

I sat thinking for a moment.

"Whoever loses has to buy the other a butterbeer next Hogsmeade trip."

"You're on Hale."

We begin another game.

He has gotten better, but he still lost in half an hour.

"Fine. I guess I owe you a butterbeer now."

"Yes you do."

"One more game? We can bet on... a pumpkin pasty?"

"Alright, one more game."

We begin again.

After about fifteen minutes of playing, he's worked his way into a problem. If he moves his rook, I can take his queen, but he will get my bishop. I have been taunting his king with my bishop the whole game, and it has been the way I have beaten him in the two previous games.

I move a pawn in a safe move.

"Your turn." I say looking up at him.

He is already staring at me. That way.

He leans over the chess board and kisses me gently.

I hear the chess pieces moving and break the kiss to look at the board.

He has taken my bishop, leaving his queen undefended.

I let out a laugh.

"We're you trying to distract me so I didn't take your queen?"

"Mayybbbbeeeee." He replies. "Did it work?"

"Not at all." I take his queen and the game doesn't last much longer before I have him in checkmate.

"Good game." He says after making sure there is no possible way for him to not lose.

"Good game."

We put the pieces away and I look outside.

"I really don't want to walk back through that rain." I said.

"Me neither."

I sit down on the floor near the middle of the tower. I take off my Slytherin robe and fold it up. I lay down and put my folded up robe under my head to act as a pillow.

Draco does the same and lays right next to me.

I take off my tie and put it on the ground next to me, and Draco unties his, but leaves it around his neck.

I am turned on my side, and my back is facing him.

His breath is warm on my neck, and I just realized how tired I am.

He puts a hand on the waistband of my skirt.

His touch is warm.

He is much closer than I realized.

His hand moves up under my shirt resting on my ribs. Then it moves down my leg and finally stays right above my knee.

"Goodnight." I whisper, already half asleep.

"Goodnight Addilyn." He whispers back.

As I drift off, I realize it's the first time he's ever called me by my first name.

............................................................................

I wake up and there is sunlight streaming through the windows.

I turn and see Draco sleeping. He looks peaceful. I close my eyes to go back to sleep, because for the first time in a while, I feel safe.

The my eyes shoot open and I realize.

"Damn it! Draco! Wake up!"

He is awake in seconds. He bolts up.

"What? What?!"

"We slept in and now we're late to class!"

"Crap."

We both hurry to get ready and run to Defense Against the Dark Arts.

We get to class about half an hour late.

"Miss Hale. Mr. Malfoy. How kind of you to join my class."

"We're fashionably late professor." I reply.

"Have a seat and read chapter 3. There is no need to talk."

I take my seat next to Pansy, and Draco takes his next to Crabbe.

...........................................................................

After class as I'm leaving, Umbridge stops me.

"Miss Hale, do you know where your tie is?"

I realized that I left it on the floor of the astronomy tower.

Most people had already left her classroom, only Draco and some people I didn't know were left.

For a second I think of lying, but then I thought I would rather make Umbridge mad.

"I don't know professor." I smile sweetly at her.

"Hey Malfoy, do you know where my tie is?" I ask him putting a hand on his arm as he passes me to leave.

He looks at me, realizing what I'm trying to do, so he plays along.

"Yeah, I think it's still on my dorm floor." He says while smirking.

"Detention. Both of you." Umbridge says, her face looking like she had just eaten a lemon that someone told her was a candy.

Right after we leave her class we both burst out laughing.

"That was totally worth detention." Draco says still laughing.

"Agreed." I reply.

We go our separate ways, because he has Ancient Runes, and I have Divination next.

During lunch, Draco sits next to me. He slides my tie to me under the table.

I have no idea how he got to the astronomy tower to get it.

"Thanks Malfoy." I whisper.

"No problem Hale."

No one seems to notice, and we continue our separate lives for the time being.
