Chapter No 11

"Assalam O Alaikum"

Entering in the home he looked around to hear the familiar voice but the hall was empty. Umer went to the kitchen but the dining table there was also empty. Tired, he came to his room and a smile covered his lips as he remembered the past night

He woke up by the soft knock at the door. With still sleepy eyes he checked the time on his phone. It was 2:00am in the midnight. The knock was loud this time with a whisper

"Suniye (Listen), please open the door"

"Ujala" with a jolt he left the bed and opened the door. There she was standing with her books and notes

"What are you doing here?" She was looking terrified 

"There is a lizard in my room" she was still peeking at now closed door of her room and he gawked her like she had said something illogical

"So?"

"Can I study here? Just some notes left that I've to go through, Please" she requested innocently, a cute frown marred her forehead and the little pout adoring her face

He has to avert his gaze from her pouting lips as it was stirring something else in him

"Ok get in" he was closing the door when he couldn't stop chuckling at her words

"I would not have bothered you if lizard would not be that big" she exemplifies the big stretching her hands to either sides

"Whatever, it isn't going to eat you besides it would be smaller than you" she got offended by his mocking tone

"Hansiye mat (Don't laugh) it was really big and it was staring at me" she tried to reason her while he just nodded like he believed her

"Ok"

She sat on the couch opening her books when turning her face to him she spoke again

"You can turn off the lights. I'll manage with my mobile torch" she was trying to keep her brave front

"No, it's fine" he again settled in the bed, "but finish it soon and get some sleep" She nodded and engrossed in her work

It was at Fajar, when he woke up she was still cramming her notes half dozing. He couldn't believe it. She had given all her papers by waking whole night and doing house chores at day

"Ujala" coming to her he shook her shoulder

"Huhh" she sat up straight and looked at him

"Offer prayers and then sleep" he said curtly

"But I …." He rigidly cut her off as he knew it is the only way he would listen to him

"Do you want me to carry you to the bed?" Her every sense awake as she quickly nodding negatively moved to do wudu (ablution) leaving him laughing at her cuteness

This loneliness was now haunting him. He fell on the bed and closed his eyes

"How will I be able to manage a week without you Ujala?" He murmured exhausted

Ujala was on cloud nine meeting her family after two weeks. Sibgha's chemo sessions have started. She was at hospital and Ujala went to meet her there with Mamu Jaan. The only odd behavior she felt was of Aehmat. Being her friend from childhood she expected a warm welcome from him but his cold behavior didn't give her good vibes. She didn't pay attention to it though
