Chapter No 21

Umer has parked the car in university parking but now Ujala was hesitant to come out

"Ujala come out, I've to lock the car" he opened the door of her side

"Lock me also then, It would save me from embarrassment" she muttered the last part to herself but he has heard it

"Stop whining now and come out. Otherwise you know I don't mind carrying you around the campus" at his threatening tone she came out in a second

"Ya Allah make me invisible somehow" he chuckles, shaking his head sideways as she walks through closing her eyes. The result of which was she stumbled on the speed breaker but he saved her from the fall grabbing her arm

"Careful Ujala and come on be confident. It is nothing wrong if people knows about our marriage. Don't be bothered about it" he made her understand and she nodded, "Ok look Wania has also come. You can go with her" She turned red as she watched to the entrance door where Wania waved her smilingly

"Now don't stress yourself by overthinking about it" he patted her cheeks while unconsciously she stepped back

"O-ok Allah Hafiz" 

"Acha suno (Listen)" before she could take leave he again stopped her holding her hand while her eyes widened as she looked around the now crowded parking

"Ha-haath toh chorain (Leave my hand)" and he instantly complied

"Come to the staff room after lectures, everyone wants to meet you" she was now at the verge of shedding tears but still with heavy heart she again nodded

"Be strong ok?" With a last pat on her cheek he went from there while taking small steps she walked to Wania. Whatever it is now she has to face it and with courage

Thankfully with back to back lectures and then lab her classmates didn't get time for introspection but she still have to bear their glances. Some of which were of appreciation but most of that are of jealousy and scornful. Remembering Umer's words she was not paying any heed to all of it and just focussed on her classes

After the lectures she was about to go to the staff room

"She looks so innocent from face but see she has trapped a principled man like Sir Zaidi in her trap" her steps halted hearing Alishba and her group gossiping about her character in the corridor

"You know Samar was telling me that first she tried to charm Jahan sir but after failing at that she turned her efforts to Zaidi sir" tears pooled in her eyes at these baseless accusations by Naima and Alishba

"I can't understand one thing if they have been already married then what was the need to conceal it" before she could form any word in her defense an intimidating voice boomed through the corridor

"IF THERE IS NO MORE CLASSES THEN GO TO YOUR HOMES AND GOSSIP THERE"

Even she felt trembled by how Jahan roared at the students

"Your Sir Zaidi and Ujala are married. It's their decision whether to hide or disclose their marriage. Stop being nosy and care for your studies than to interfere in personal matters of others" it was a matter of a few seconds, the corridor was empty

Jahan then turned to face Ujala who was trembling with her lowered head and just shedding tears. He exhaled a long sigh

"Zubaan nahi hai aap ke munh mein (Don't you have tongue in your mouth)?" Though he said it softly but perhaps she felt it as taunting her lowered head hung more low as she murmured an almost inaudible "Sorry sir"
