Chapter 5

Y/N's point of view

The alarm goes off. I started getting ready and throw on a plain black shirt and ripped jeans.

My phone dings.
"Hey nerd. You want a ride today."

"Depends will i end up being late." I type back while doing my hair.

"No my parents make me go to school at a normal time. I just show up to class late. I do have a reputation to keep."

"I'll be ready in 10 minutes. If Im late because of you tho I swear"

"Don't worry dork."

He is a horrible driver. I don't know how we made it to school in one piece.

"Who thought it would be a good idea to give you of all people a license?" I asked walking towards my locker

"Im not that bad"

"You almost took out a stop sign" I said in disbelief.

"But I didn't. And you aren't late. Just like you asked" He smiled seemingly proud of himself.

I rolled my eyes while putting stuff in my locker. "You're the worst, you know that."

"Aww, thanks for the compliment" he said smirking.

"Hey Y/N almost ready to head to class" CC said walking up ignoring Rodrick.

"You want me to be late to class all alone" he said pouting towards CC.

"Always trying to pull people in to trouble aren't you ahole" she said glaring at Rodrick. The bell rang "Come on Y/N"

"See you later Rodrick" I said smiling at him

Looking at me smiling he said "Laterz loser I got places to not be"

CC and I walked to class. "I thought I told you not to bother with him"

"First off we are neighbors so calm down second off, he's not that bad."

"All he does is flirt with people and cause problems. He won't even end up graduating. You don't want to be associated with that." We arrived at the classes.

I rolled my eyes "He's not that bad CC. I'll be fine." I said before walking into Math.

Math went well but English was another story.
Rodrick was extremely talkative today and ended up getting sent to the principles office. Luckily Im pretty good in English so i think I'll be fine for the test on Friday.
Third period I get a text.
Idiot Neighbor - Hey you sitting with anyone at lunch
Me - I was going to sit with CC but I'm up for chilling with you instead.
Idiot Neighbor - Cool. I'll meet you by the cafeteria doors.

Soon it was lunch. "Hey Rodrick"i said walking up.
"Hey short stuff"
"You aren't that much taller than me"
He rolled his eyes at me as we walked to the line to get lunch.
"Hey do you know what CC's problem is with you."
"No, probably just another person so in love with me that they can't deal with it"

When we sat down he pulled out two monsters from his bag. "I had some left over from yesterday"
An Ultra blue and OG monster.
"I got dibs on Ultra"
"Is that your favorite flavor?"
"I like this one, Pipeline and the white one the most"
I get a text and check my phone.

CC - Where are you?
Rodrick gives me a questioning look
"CC" I explain. He just nods in response.
me - Im just eating with someone else don't worry
CC - Its not who I think it is, is it?
I decide it's probably best to leave her on read
We continue talking til lunch finishes.

"I gotta go to class, bye idiot"

"Catch ya later nerd"

An few more classes then finally history. I was looking forward to talking to my friends considering i still didn't really talk to anyone else. Even if CC didn't really like Rodrick.
I don't really understand why, he's nice. Yeah he does get in trouble a lot and can be a bit off putting when you first meet him but he likes the same type of music as me and is an absolute dork.

I sat down in history CC on my right. "You sat down with him at lunch!"
"Yes, I did".
Rodrick sat down on my left just as the bell rang. "Talking about me, Im flattered"
"A bit early for you, what did your clock on your phone not work"
"I figured you missed me so much yesterday that I'd have to make up for it today"
"So happy Im stuck with you for another hour" I said sarcastically
CC rolled her eyes at us both
Soon after everyone got settled down the teacher started. During the lessons he kept saying jokes while the teacher was talking trying to get me to crack. The teacher looked over to where we were annoyed so i tried to stay quieter. I punched Rodrick lightly on the arm to get him to stop.
"What, scared to get detention with me."
"Shut up Rodrick, I don't want to get in trouble"
"Both of you can it" CC whispered harshly
We both rolled our eyes

Soon that class was over. CC and I went home and Rodrick went to his Usual detention.

I did my homework for a while before getting a text.

CC - Hey! Do you want to come to my birthday on next Tuesday. No bringing lover boy though.

Me - That sounds cool! Lover boy? Are you talking about Rodrick!? We are just friends!

CC - Sure, if that's what you say...

Me - I literally just met him! I don't like him that way!

CC - Okay... Make sure to wear something nice for my party.

Me - I will
And with that i went back to my homework.

"Dinner!" I heard my parent calling. I left my phone in my room and ate dinner.
I came back up to one missed call and a text from Rodrick saying "BIG news!!!!"
I call him back.

"Hey Rodrick, what's up?"

"Y/N!!! My band just booked a gig for next Tuesday! You gotta come!"

"Thats awesome Rodrick but, I just told CC that i would be going to her birthday next Tuesday."

"Oh" he said dejectedly

"I promise I'll come to your next one though" I said trying to cheer him up

"You promise?" he said still kind of sad but trying to seem happier

"Of course!"

"Im going to hold you to that, no backing out of it now."

"Alright" I said laughing.

"Hey, um do you maybe want to hang out or something Im bored."

"Video call?" i questioned
We were on a video call until i fell asleep.

CC really doesn't like Rodrick does she. He doesn't seem to have a problem with her though.
Also what was that about her calling Rodrick lover boy? You literally just moved here and it's not like you like him like that or anything.
