Part 2: bonfire

Your POV

"Alright, well, we can have you try out for jobs tomorrow, but Tonight we are having a bonfire."

"For what?"

"For you of course, to celebrate our special new greenie.." "well we do it every month but it's fun, don't worry." Newt responds. I just nod.

Time skip to that night~

It's quite dark now, I'm looking at a pretty nice sized hut they seemed to have built, It looks pretty nice if I'm being honest, they are very resourceful,

Newt comes up behind me,

"Hey greenie! Come on, you're gonna miss it."

I turn around confused but I follow him to a large pile of sticks and branches,

"They're gonna light it up."

Minho walks up to me with a large torch like stick in his hand, it's obviously lit, "do the honors for us greenie?"

I'm not so sure, I look at him for a moment until,
"you just gotta throw it in." Minho assures me.

"Sure." I take it from him, I walk over to the pile, a few other guys also have a torch.

"Alright...now." We all threw it into the pile, they cheered, I on the other hand, backed away and sat down behind a log.

Newt sat next to me after a few minutes, some gross looking drink in his hand.

He held it out to me.

"try it." He says, I look at the jar, and back at newt,

"That looks disgusting."

"Yeah, but you get used to it."

"I'm good, thanks."

he shrugs and takes a sip,

"Have you remembered your name yet?"

"I think so."

"Well what do you think it is?"

"Y/n."

"Such a Beautiful name."

"Are you drunk or something?"

I hear people chanting and laughing, I turn around and see guys crowding around something in a circle,

Newt gets up, "you're gonna wanna see this."

he walks near the circle so I get up and follow him. We make room for ourselves near the front of the circle,

I see gally from earlier, Newt told me his name. He's fighting some other glader I don't know the name of,

Gally pushed the other boy out of the circle in the blink of an eye, laughs and cheers were let out by the boys watching.

"Girl greenie, huh?" Gally looked me up and down, ooh's and laughs were heard from the boys, "want to try?" "I'll go easy on ya..maybe."

I look at him,

"you don't have to." Newt tells me.

"Come on!" A boy said, the rest of the boys joined in,

"yeah!" Another said,

"you got this." A boy near me said and pushed me toward the center of the circle.

"Alright." I said as I walked closer to gally.

He smirked, "here's the rules, greenie, I try to push you out of the circle.." "and you try to last more than five seconds." He laughs and the other boys do too,

Newt watched carefully, he was nervous and hoping gally wouldn't be too rough.

Gally rushed to me, I move quickly, he nearly trips, he turned around.

He made eye contact with me, I studied his face, he had light freckles I could see with the light from the bonfire shining lightly on his face, his hair was dark, his eyebrows were very arched, not in a bad way.

I honestly didn't know what to do.

I ran at him, he looked like he was ready but he didn't know what I had in mind, I ran straight toward him than last second before he could brace for my impact, I moved to the left and tripped him with my foot, He face planted,

The boys got louder, gally got angrier,

He got up quick, he walked closer and I took a step back, one of the boys pushed me closer to gally and he practically picked me up,

Then in a matter of seconds,

He dropped me.

My head hit the ground, I was extremely dizzy already,

my head hurt more than I can explain, everything was faint but I could hear yelling.

"What the bloody hell gally?!" It was newt,

I heard what I think was gally say something but I couldn't quite make it into words. I had my knees up, laying on my back and I had my arm over my face.

Everything was a bit blurry, I saw a few people hovering over me.

"Y/n? Y/n?" "Can you hear me?" Newt asked, I was in too much pain to speak right now, he moved my arm away from my face, "Jeff!" Newt yelled.

"On it, Clint get the stretcher." Jeff says calmly.

I looked at what I think was newt, like I said it's all blurry, he kept talking to me yet I couldn't quite understand. I reached my hand up and newt grabbed it, "you're alright, you'll be fine." He said.
Then...
Everything went dark.
