Your POV
It's pouring rain, everyone stays protected from getting wet.
"They should have been back by now." I tell Newt, worry showing harshly in my voice.
Thomas is hugging one of the support beams watching the opening of the maze.
Newt doesn't reply, he only stares off into the distance.
"Newt?" He still doesn't reply, he's got a focused glare and a harsh frown on his face, "whatever."
I walk up to where the roof of the structure ends and the pouring rain drips down, I put a hand out to let the rain fall on it, it's cold but not overbearing.
Thomas speaks up, "what happens if they don't come back?"
Newt still doesn't speak.
Me and Thomas give each other a quick glance, I just shrug.
"Maybe we should send someone in there?" I suggest openly to anyone listening,
Newt finally speaks up, "no, it's too dangerous, and besides, we can't risk anyone else."
"I'll go." I state,
"It's pouring rain and they've got time." Newt responded quickly,
"What if one of them is hurt?" I remark,
"They'll be back." Newt states simply,
Thomas comes up to me and sets a gentle hand in my shoulder, "We can At least wait for the rain to stop, then we'll figure it out, yeah?"
"Yeah, I guess."
Newt gives me a side eye glare, I don't think it was meant to come off as rude, but if it was I didn't take it that way,
He quickly looks away,
I don't know why he's been acting off to me, we're supposed to be close friends, tell each other everything, you know?
