Chapter 3 - The duck with two cats

Y/N's POV
Me and Jisoo decided to go to the park. I didn't want to put her leash on because you know, she might go aggressive. Well that wasn't the main reason, I didn't want to put her leash on because people might stare at us if I put it on so what's the point of buying a leash right?

"Y/N what is that?" She pointed at the monkey bars while jumping up and down with excitement.

"Those are monkey bars, wanna try it?" She quickly ran to those monkey bars as I follow. She started climbing up to those monkey bars with the other kids. I was watching her hang on to those bars, she's pretty doing it well.

"Look monkey bars! Wanna try it Jennie?" I heard a girl's voice that doesn't really sound like a child.

"No, I might fall. If you want then just do it by your own." Another girl, from what I heard Jennie says. I turned to them and saw two women who are almost like the same age as Jisoo's. One of them had silver hair, and the other one had black hair. And I noticed something was moving on top of their heads, even behind their backs.

Wait a minute, are those ears and tails?

The silver-haired girl climb up the ladder and started hanging on the bars. She kept going and going until she reached halfway. She wasn't even done when she lost her grip and fell. I quickly ran to her and knelt down on her level.

"Oh my goodness are you ok-" I wasn't finished with my sentence until she shouted,

"Mommy!!!!"

I quickly checked her if she was wounded or badly injured.

"Hey it's okay," I tried to calm her down. "What hurts silver-head?"

"M-my leg...." she sobbed as she points to her leg.

"Yah!" I heard a voice from behind and saw the black-haired girl. "Get away from her stranger!" Then I saw Jisoo coming to me.

"Y/N, what happened? And who is she?" Jisoo asked.

"None of your business!" The black-haired girl shouted.

"Y/N, they're hybrids too." Jisoo added. "Wait, I know you." Jisoo pointed to her. "You're Jennie, right?"

"H-how did you know my name?" So her name is Jennie?

"You're from that adoption center, right? I'm also a hybrid too!" She showed her tail to Jennie.

"Who cares?! Get away from Rosie!" Ooh, attitude girl.

"Oh my god." We heard another voice from behind. "Rosie! Are you okay?" She knelt down in front of the silver-head, or Rosie.

"Mommy... It hurts..... I fell from the bars....." The owner turned to me and frowned as she sees me. She's a girl with short black hair and bangs. She had brown doe eyes and big plump lips.

"Who are you?" She asks.

"I'm Y/N, a-and I saw your hybrid fell from the monkey bars." I stuttered because of how intimidating she was. "I tried to help her but-"

"It's okay." She cut me off.

"What?"

"You don't really have to, you know, help her. It's my fault I wasn't watching. So I'm the one who should be responsible." Her frown turned to a normal face.

"Yeah, I'm sorry..."

"You don't have to, at least you tried to help." She carried Rosie in bridal style and brought her to the bench.

???'s POV

How stupid of me, I should've watched them instead of doing photography.

"Mommy, I'm sorry." Rosie sobbed. "I shouldn't have climb for those monkey bars."

"No, it's okay Rosie." I petted her ears.

"Yah mommy pet me too!" My other hybrid, Jennie pouted. Why wouldn't I pet her too?
They both purred as part of their instincts of being cat hybrids.

"Just stay right here okay? Don't go anywhere." They both nodded as I walked in front of the girl I met. I also noticed she had a hybrid with her.

"Hey." I called her. "May I get your number?"

"Oh, yeah sure." She showed me her number and I saved it. "What is it for?"

"Hmm, I'm just going to ask you, if you can be part of my photography crew. Because we need more people. Can you do it?"

"Well, I'm already part of another company but, it would be nice if I work part-time." I smiled as I heard her response.

"That's great. What are you at least good at?"

"I'm good at editing stuff if I'm bored, just saying."

"Oh wow, can you be our editor?"

"Sure, what's your name by the way?"

"Lalisa, but call me Lisa for short." I smiled and looked at the hybrid with her. "Ooh, you have a hybrid with you too."

"Yeah, her name is Jisoo, a wolf hybrid. Bet you have cat hybrids right?" I nodded.

"Yeah, the one who got injured earlier is Rosé and the one whose eyes are more feline is Jennie. And I'm sorry if Jennie has that kind of attitude. (I'm not saying Jennie's rude) She's really like that because she had a very terrible past. She was raised by her horrible uncle because her parents died after a car crash. Her uncle was a scientist who turned her into a hybrid. He would always beat her up if she does something wrong. So deep inside, she's sad. That's why I give her my best attention if I can."

"I know her." I looked at Jisoo. "She used to be my playmate in that adoption center three years ago."

"Really? How was she like?"

"She would mostly scratch whoever tries to annoy her. That's why I don't bother her that much."

"Well, yeah, she loves scratching me and Rosé for some reason." Y/N chuckled at my reply.

"While Jisoo loves biting things." Jisoo suddenly bit her playfully. "See?"

I pulled out my sleeve and showed them the scratch marks Jennie did to me.

"Are those her scratch marks?" I nodded.

"Yup, but Rosé has more because they would mostly misbehave and fight. Rosé is the opposite of Jennie. She's mostly shy but she likes trying new stuff and would mostly challenge herself with risky stuff like those monkey bars."

"Ooh, taking care of two hybrids is tough." I nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, but they're like the best. They clear out my boredom by encouraging me to play with them."

I suddenly felt weight behind my back. I knew it was Jennie because Rosé couldn't jump because of her injury.

"Jennie, I told you to stay there with Rosie why did you leave her?"

"I'm okay now mommy." I heard Rosie from behind. "Maybe it's just a minor injury. And that woman saw me." She pointed at Y/N

"Oh hi." Y/N said awkwardly,

"I'm okay now!" She showed her leg to Y/N.

"That's nice!"
