The next day Jade tried her best to avoid Seth, She knew she was being childish but she didn't want anyone to talk to her. That's how things are that's how she wants it to be and she wasn't about to let Seth change that.

She slammed her book close as her stomach growled. She tried her hardest to ignore the empty feeling in her stomach but, no matter what it wouldn't go away, she needed food.

She gathered her belongings and headed to the cafeteria, The lunch line was a bit short when she got there which she was thankful for. She grabbed a slice of pizza, an apple, and a soda. Jade ate in the cafeteria a few times before, she usually sits in the back at an unoccupied table which was oddly always empty.

She made her way to the table, hoping to go by unnoticed, but everyone, especially Jade, knows it doesn't work that way.

"Hey, you in the purple." A voice called out.

Jade continued walking thinking he couldn't possibly mean her, Her shirt wasn't even purple she thought to herself it was just a really dark pink.

"Wait up."

Just as she was about to reach her table a hand grasped onto her shoulder keeping her from walking. Knowing exactly who it was she pulled herself free from his grip and turned the other way knocking into someone causing them both to fall.

And that someone was none other than Sandy. She was covered head to toe in lettuce and salad dressing along with Jade's pizza.

Jade spent about five seconds mourning over the lost of her pizza before fear started to kick in. Sandy had a murderous look in her eyes, which made Jade tremble under her icy glare.

"You. little. freak." She screeched causing Jade and just about everyone else to flinch. "Do you know how much money I paid for this outfit?"

Jade trembled, never had she ever been screamed at like that before and she felt as though any minute now she would burst into tears.

"Oh wait, You probably don't since your parents doesn't have enough money to get your voice fixed." Jade was mortified at the way she spoke to her, Everyone knew what happened was an accident but, for Sandy they all laughed, everyone except Seth.

"I mean who the hell, do you think you are?, A freakish mute like you doesn't deserve to be in my presence let alone live, I mean what good are you if you can't talk."

The tears began rolling down Jade's face, she couldn't believe someone could ever be so harsh. As she began to stand up, a voice she wish was hers to defend herself spoke up. "Don't you ever speak to her like that again."

Jade watched as Seth began walking over to Sandy furious. "What do you want with her anyway, She cant even speak." Sandy smirked knowing she was getting to Jade.

Seth grabbed Jade's hand, pulling her close to him. "What I want with her is none of your damn business. Now stay the hell away from her." He growled.

"You're going to regret ever making friends with her Seth."

Seth laughed as Jade stood wide-eyed along with everyone else not believing what just happened.

He turned to face her, smiling, as he pulled her along. "C'mon, lets get you cleaned up."

Jade couldn't believe it, someone who she had just met, who probably doesn't even know her name, stood up for her against Sandy and she couldn't help but smile as she walked out of the cafeteria doors with Seth next to her.
