Rain.
Rain means sadness.
Rain means loss.
Rain means soaked clothes and skin with a wet shining gloss.

Why does rain symbolize our ache?
Why does rain reflect our tears?
Why does rain take on the burden of anger and fears?

Why must rain make a symphony of our sorrow on our rooftops?
Why does rain mean salty tears mixing with showers of raindrops?
Why does rain take this label, this symbol of fate?
Why does rain mean bad days and constantly being late?

Did rain choose this identity or is that why it thunders?
It's sad that it means fearful children go running to their mothers.

But rain is so much more than remorse and grief.
It's secret smiles and water droplets rolling off a leaf.
It's new beginnings of storms washing away our pain.
It's romantic kisses from cheesy movies in the middle of the lane.
It's laughter, puddles, and children's mirth.
It's a sip of relief as it soaks into the earth.

The first rays of sunlight, streaming through the grey.
A colourful arc bringing forth a new day.
Shining puddles, like mirrors on the ground.
The melody of droplets making music with its sound.

Rain.
Rain means joy.
Rain means life.
Rain means new beginnings after tire and strife.

Even if it means that people get wet and children can't play,
There's nothing like the pleasant storms of a rainy day.
