Thunder rolling across the sky.
Monsters creeping under the bed.
Children let out a startled cry.
As the fear takes over their head.
Fear takes grip of our heart.
Clouds our mind.
Tears us apart.
Taking us somewhere no one can find.
You can choose to cower behind me.
You can choose to run away.
You can choose to stand beside me.
You can choose to stay.
Fear isn't just a word.
It's an emotion no one ordered.
Fear is a monster everyone fights.
From the meekest children to the fiercest knights.
Fear can be overcome.
Or Fear can be run from.
No one can possibly know exactly what you're feeling.
No one can possibly understand.
But everyone can see you're hurting
And are ready to take your hand.
You can choose to cower behind me.
You can choose to run away.
You can choose to stand beside me.
You can choose to stay.
