Life in the wilderness can be taken in many ways with many different perspectives. For Wilbur and Tommy, absolutely shit. It must have been roughly a week since they were kicked out of their nation, abandoned by their own people and friends. A week since they lost everything. A week since Tommy sent a certain letter to a certain individual about needing help. But they were still managing. Struggling, probably being a better fitting word.

They had managed to explore the hidden cave they first hid in, and discovered there was a lot more to it from what it appeared to be. Inside lay a deep and narrow-looking ravine, securely hidden from the outdoors. But that didn't mean it was safe. They cleared up a small pathway that led down into the hollow tunnel, discovering it was a lot deeper than they thought. The walls were decorated in several thick tangled vines, which they had to cut down in order to explore the area. Although it wasn't perfect, it was very hidden and would be a safe place for them to stay for the time being.

Once he had finished securing the place, Tommy had to guide Wilbur down the steps he dug out and try to patch each other's wounds. The blonde teen's injuries were very minor, only having a few scrapes and cuts from bushes and thorns they had to push through. Wilbur, however, was another story. His arrow wound caused him to lose a lot of blood, as well as making him feel a lot more weaker and tired in general. It had gotten pretty swollen over time, and was in desperate need of treating other than being poorly wrapped up with old clothing. There was a risk it could be infected if they didn't act soon.

Problem was, neither of them knew a single thing on how to treat serious wounds.

The only person who had at least vast knowledge on this sort of thing was Fundy, and they weren't exactly on common grounds right now. News got around to them pretty quick that Fundy was even supporting Schlatt and helping him on his journey to greatness. He had betrayed them all. There was no way he would be willing to help the duo out.

The only other person who knew how to treat wounds was... Y/N. They hadn't heard from her in a long, long time - hell, they didn't even know if she was alive. She did try and keep in contact with them for a while, but soon it had to come to an end, due to suspicion on Dream's behalf. If he ever found the letters that had been sent back and forth by her and L'manburg then she could end putting herself in pretty big danger. It was probably around two months in until they had to stop. Thankfully, Dream never found out.

Still, this left Tommy with no options other than to try his best with his very brief knowledge on what to do thanks to watching Y/N work on her patients. He managed to stop the bleeding by applying pressure, but he could only do so much with limited supplies on his behalf. The sound of Wilbur's constant winces and grunts didn't help either.

They were positioned against one of the many stone walls of ravine, their only light source being a lit torch in Tommy's spare hand. He used it to examine the injury in better detail, to figure out just how serious it is and to see his movements whilst he treats it. The L'manburg jacket and shirt he wore was torn and bloody and had been discarded from his body to expose the injury.

The teen scavenged through his bag, passing his torch over to Wilbur to hold whilst he searched for a bottle of water. Thank god he brought a bottle with him when he retrieved supplies from the embassy. He tore off part of his own uniform blazer, gathering as much fabric as he could to work as a cloth to clean the wound before tipping a bit of the water onto the soft material. As soon as enough water had soaked into the fabric, he carefully dabbed it against the caked blood, being as careful as he could to not press too hard. The brunette hissed out and shifted slightly.

"Sorry... I'm trying my best here, mate, the least you can do is stay still." He grumbled, his voice feeling dry after not speaking in so long. The two hadn't really exchanged any words since they had arrived here, their minds still busy trying to grasp their current situation. It was all just too much to comprehend. Obviously, they still spoke to one another the odd few times, but it was nothing like how they used to. Wilbur glared slightly at him with a sigh before moving back into his previous position, allowing better access for him to clean the wound.
