"ready?" I asked as i helped my nonna get out of the car
"ready"she said strongly and i helped walk her into the hospital.
we sat in the waiting room.
"chica, why are you shaking"she asked placing a hand on my knee
"Just nervous "i responded.
"no need to im positive about this"she said with a smile.
"Mrs isabella romano"a nurse called out and we followed her to the room.
"hello im dr choi, so your here to get the results of your scan back am i correct"dr choi said
"yes" nonna responded.
he pulls a peice of paper out of a file and frowns.
"im sad to admit but the scan shows the cancer hasnt cleared up, theres nothing else we could do,unless we dose out more chemo"he said looking sadder and sadder.
"no,no chemo i cant do that again"my nonna said starting to cry, i hugged her side and tried to stay strong.
"well with no more chemo it really doesnt look good"choi explained
"Nonna please get the chemo"i begged her.
"mio ive had a good live ive no complaints"she said tears in her eyes holding her hand.
"how much longer do i have"nonna asks
"two or three weeks we are guessing"choi said
my world was falling around me
first my nonno now nonna.
This amazing role model that ive had for as long as i could remember might not be here in the morning.
we walked out the hospital in silence.
holding each others hand.
"mio i have a few things i wish to do"
"anything nonna"i answered
"do one last shift at bellas"
i nodded with a smile
"and to go to the lake on the edge of town"
"ill make that happen"i tell her.
After i get grandma in bed i promised her that what she wanted was going to happen
i also promised myself to keep the diner up for her and nonno.
i walked down the stairs to the diner to tell lizzie she could leave as i had to bribe her to stay there while i took nonna to the hospital.
"wow a police officer and oh my gawd them muscles you must be great in bed-"i heard her say i ignored it until i realised who she was talking to...
