"you look beautiful"jay said as i walked towards him.
i was so nervous "you look beautiful, not beautiful um cute no handsome you look handsome"i panicked, well done tori well done.
jay laughed at me and hugged my waist.
"sorry im just nervous"i said as we waked down the street.
"no need i mean were just friends right now" jay said with a small giggle
we approached a resturant and went to sit down he got my chair for me
"your such a gentleman"i said
"i learnt from the best, my older brother Will has been waiting to have that chat with me about how to treat a lady, when i told him about us meeting up he sat me down for a chat suffice to say it was extremely awkward"jay said laughing.
"what are you having tori"jay asked as we both looked through a menu.
"i think maybe the lasagne" i said
"how can i help you guys"the waitress said
"ill have the lasagne with salad please"i said
"ill have a steak medium rare please"jay said
"okay and drinks?"the waitress said
"red wine please"i said
"same here please"jay added.
"so tell me about yourself"jay said
"um so i was born victoria romano,in chicago but my family is from italy and im half italian, when i was born we moved back to italy,but the thing is my mom always told me dad left but my nonna says that mom had a drinking problem then when my dad tried to help her she made the whole family leave with her"i explained an he listened, he was a really good listener.
"so who is your dad if you dont mind me asking"jay asked.
"i dont know, all i know is he was a really good man my nonno and nonna loved him oh his last name is severide thats all i know of him"
"Severide?"jay asked
jays pov
"all i know is his last names severide"tori said
wait is that kelly shes on about.
does kelly have a brother or someting, a cousin?
i decided not to ask too much and see if she has a photo of him.
toris pov
"yeah do you know him"i asked looking hopeful.
"um no...no i just didnt hear you"jay said
"oh ok"i replied.
"so nonna i know but, nonno?"jay asked changing the subject
"oh its just italian for grandpa or grandfather"i explained
"ah right ill remember it"jay laughed
"so you say things like he loved your dad is he-"jay started
"he um died of cancer when i was 10"i said tearing up
"hey its okay im sure he wouldnt want you to cry"jay said and wiped my eyes.
i nodded and stopped then said
"i do ballet as a hobby that my nonna has been teaching me for years"i carried on.
"im struggling as they want to close the diner down so-"i started
"thats why you were in the club the other night"he said sympathetically.
"i do what i can to keep the diner open for nonno"i said
"if you ever need anything come to me"jay said holding my hand that was on the table
"thank you but i had a large income the other week for doing-"i said remembering what that man did to me for me to get 1500 dollars and then said "something"
"by something you mean... sex?"jay asked instantly looking sympathetically
"i didnt want to"i said biting back tears he moved his chair to sit next to me. we were in an empty resturant so no one could hear this

i remembered that he was a detective and knew he would get police involved.
"no..no i had to work an all nighter and i hated every minute as my friend wasnt there"i said stopping my tears from coming out.
i pulled myself together and jay moved his chair back
"so enough about me-thank you- tell me about you" i said as the food arrived
"well i have an older brother and my mom died of cancer 5 years ago and ever since then my dads drinking has gotten that bad
i dont know whats gonna happen to him"jay said and i put my hand on his shoulder
"hey, youll be okay we are gonna stick together okay"i said to him.
we ate our food
"thank you for inviting me tonight"i said as we were getting ready to leave
"no problem i really enjoyed it"jay said with a smile.
"do you wanna come mine for a few drinks"i offered him.
"sure, if thats okay with you"jay asked
"of course"i responded.
"whens the last time you went on a date"jay said with a slight laugh
"um never"i responded with a giggle.
"oh my god are guys blind or something"jay complimented and smiled at me
"im always too busy looking after my nonna and the diner thats why im so nervous it really is my first date"i said giggling.
"im sorry that youve never done a lot of things"jay said"what job would you pick and why"he asked smiling
"thats such a first grade question"i said with a smile "but id probably be like a doctor or a nurse as ive always liked helping people but if i was a doctorid still do ballet"i said
"you should go medical school become a doctor with Will"jay said smiling
"i might take you up on that detective" i said smiling.
"so wheres the witch gone?lizzie i mean"jay said laughing
"oh her and my mom went on a 'mini break cause theyre just so stressed'"i said mocking her
"ive seen her in that diner like once"jay said smiling
we were walking when it started to rain really bad
"oh my god am i that cursed" i said laughing
jay took his leather jacket of and lay it on my shoulders
"run.RUN"jay shouted as the rain got heavier.
we were laughing so much while running and it was just the best time ive had in a while i forgot about all my troubles everything i was enjoying jays company.
we entered the diner and i forgot to clean up before i left so i sighed and said.
"you go up ill clean up here"i said with a slight smile.
"na ah were a team remember"jay said and picked up a broom.
i laughed at him when he was dancing with a broom.
"hey im a better ballerina"he said mimicking what ballerinas do with their arms
i was folding over laughing at him
"cmon then show me how its done"jay said and lent on the counter
i stepped onto the bit of the diner that was clear of tables and did 5 pirhouettes in a row and jay was lost for words when i stopped spinning.
he scoffed and said "show off" i then smiled at him and we both started laughing
"im only joking"he said while pulling me closer by my waist
"cmon your soaking wet lets get you upstairs im sure lizzies boyfriend would of left clothes for you to wear while these dry"
we started walking up the stairs i was in front of him
"how do you know im not a birthday suit kinda guy"he said laughing i turned around and said
"not with my nonna in the house"we both started laughing then we reached the door.
when we entered the flat i checked on my nonna and she was asleep.
jay was still in his drenched white button down shirt when he pulled me close and said
"i know we havent known each other for long but i love you"he said
"prove it"i smiled
he pulled me close and our lips met and kissed for ages and when we broke.
"ill get you some clothes and you can stay the night"i said
i got some clothes for jay and passed them to him once he came out of the bathroom
"does nothing for my figure" he said in a funny voice while flopping his hand from his wrist.
we both laughed and i said
"im gonna get dressed in the bathroom and ill be back
i came back out of the bathroom in a long t shirt with shorts on under neath
we snuggled on the sofa and turned on a film.
