Abella was sorted into slytherin in a matter of moments when the Sorting Hat was placed on her head. Certainly not faster than Draco Malfoy, but it was still impressive.

She was a very smart which, at times she found herself asking 'why wasn't I sorted into Ravenclaw', but the raw darkness, her cunning personality, devotion, and strong leadership answered that in 2 seconds.

Coming from a long line of proud Slytherins, it wasn't very surprising, though. The Parkinsons had been proud members of the Sacred 28 since the beginning of recorded wizard history. And every single one of them had been sorted into Slytherin.

Her twin sister, Pansy, followed her Sorting, and took only a few moments longer than Abella to be sorted into Slytherin.

The twins were quite different, though. Pansy got misread a lot, but her total bitchiness to even her friends set them apart.

Her family life wasn't the best, but she always decided to push past that, leave it at home and forget about it. 

She was excited to learn magic, yes. But she was happy she finally had a breath of fresh air.

She was finally getting to find herself, find her friends, find her people.

She wanted to make a name for herself, not for being a Parkinson, though it seems as if that's all people cared about, that that's all they saw her as. 

That's why she needed to change it. Why she needed to make a name for herself in the wizarding world, why she needed to come here.

She was going to have a world renown wizarding name to prove she was someone, with or without the last name.
