Abella remembered the way everyone held their breath as Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, followed just after her and Pansy. The older Slytherins around her were muttering to each other hopefully. She could see members of the other 3 houses doing the same. Everybody wanted to be able to claim Harry Potter belonged to their house, to claim that they represented ' The Great Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, Defeater of Lord Voldemort'. What a load of utter bullshit.

He didn't die because a mere baby defeated him, he died because he was stupid, and let greed, pride, ego and selfishness get in the way. Abella scoffed at the thought.

"What is the rave about "Harry Potter" anyway?" A first year Slytherin asked.

"Don't be daft, well, he's the boy whom lived, of course!"

Abella stated like it was the most obvious thing ever. That was all the scarced 28 talked about. All of He who shall not be named old followers talked about. All pureblood slytherins talked about.

 "How did he survive?"

"We must get him on our side!"

"The boy who lived!"

To be quite frank, he was all ANY family talked about, the subject at the dinner table, the name always featured in the daily prophet.

A pang of jealousy hit Abella when she realized her parents talked and cared more about some stupid half blood more than their own child...

The disappointment when Harry was sorted into Gryffindor was evident around the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables, but the mood at the Slytherin table shifted from hopeful to spiteful in a split second.

She knew, of course, of the long standing rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor, more so than any of the other houses. Abella would have liked to say she was above it, but being raised in the Parkinson family, it was impossible not to feel contempt for Gryffindors.

Perhaps this was the beginning of her hatred for a certain bespectacled boy. Perhaps her loathing for him had begun before she even met the boy who had lived. Maybe because she was jealous- oh, no. Never that. She was above that!

Or, perhaps, it started when She realized the divide between their two houses was there for a very good reason. Gryffindors were the most obnoxious, disagreeable, self-righteous, arrogant, hot-headed people Abella Parkinson had ever had the displeasure of meeting.

And Harry fucking Potter checked all of the boxes to be the most hate-able Gryffindor of them all.

Abella's first face to face encounter with the famous Harry Potter happened just one week after her Sorting.

She were walking down the main corridor with Pansy on her left and Astoria and Daphne Greengrass, Her "best friends" since she were three, on her right. Draco Malfoy, who she had known for just as long as Astoria and Daphne was behind Abella with his recently acquired minions Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle.

She was chatting with the three girls about their first Potions assignment when someone barreled straight into her.

 * CRASH *

Abella cried out as her back hit the marble floor with a crash. The pain of getting slammed intoa marble slab is ... unbareable

Harry Potter climbed off of Abella Parkinson in a hurry, red faced and panting. He was about to reach down a hand to help her up, muttering apologies when he spotted Draco behind her, cackling with Crabbe and Goyle.

Harry glanced down at her, eyeing her green tie with his eyes narrowed. He retracted his hand quickly, face turning sour.

Pansy helped her up instead, fussing over her hair and school clothes.

That day.. that day started the pure loathing for Harry Potter.

The fact that he would not help her up because of her house mad her blood run cold and face turn sour.
