You tried shagging Theo as often as possible to try to get yourself to want him, admire him, the way you did Harry. You were ashamed of yourself for continuing to string Theo along, but maybe, just maybe, you could change how you felt.

And it wasn't as if Theo was bad in bed. Quite the opposite, really. He focused on you and how you felt all the time. He was caring and gentle in your relationship, despite his outward appearance of hostile arrogance to everybody else at school. It wasn't bad. Anybody would love such an ideal relationship, you told yourself.

But it wasn't enough...

You yearned for something more. Something you didn't quite understand yet. There was some sort of spark that you felt was missing. And the only person you felt could give it to you had resumed his outward acts of hatred toward you.

It started in your doubles Charms class. You were practicing nonverbal spells again. Only Hermione Granger had accomplished anything worth a passing grade, which most of the Slytherins, including you, resented her for.

You had been concentrating so hard on trying to extinguish the flame in front of you silently that your face was turning red. Suddenly, just as the flame began to flicker, somebody bumped your shoulder so harshly you stumbled into Theo standing next to you.

"The fuck--?" You stopped mid-sentence when you saw Harry walking away.

"Hey, Potter! The fuck is your problem?" Theo called after him, putting a protective arm over your shoulder.

"Language, Mr. Nott!" Professor Flitwick squeaked

"It's fine, Mattheo. just let it go," you muttered, rubbing your still bruised shoulder

You wondered whether Harry had bumped the shoulder you'd injured on purpose. Could he think you had purposely gotten him injured? That was ridiculous! If you'd wanted to hurt him you wouldn't have put yourself at risk. Maybe the collision had just reminded Harry of all the reasons he hated you.

You wished it had done the same for you....
