You heard Harry chuckle a bit and moved your gaze from his mess of hair to his face. "What's so funny?""No one's ever started randomly touching my hair before is all," Harry grinned.
You felt your cheeks heat up and dropped your hand down to rest on your folded knees that brushed up against Harry's thigh softly.
"Sorry, I just..." you paused and tried to think of an excuse, seeing as 'I've been daydreaming about how soft it is for months' sounded a little too creepy right after your first kiss.
Harry noticed your embarrassment and frowned. "I didn't mean to make you feel bad about it, I'm sorry."
"No, you're right. It was weird," you replied, biting your lip and looking down.
"It wasn't weird, Y/n. I was just surprised is all. I've never--well I've never done anything like this with a girl before."
You glanced up at him through your eyelashes, still a bit embarrassed. "What about Cho? I heard you two were going out last year."
Harry shrugged. "We kissed once and went on a date that I'd rather never think about again. I never knew how to talk to her like I talk to you. It was so, I dunno, formal with her. Does that make sense?"
"Yeah, I get what you mean," you nodded.
"Was it like that with... with you and Nott?" Harry asked cautiously.
You frowned and shook your head. "No, not really. I mean maybe if we hadn't been friends for so long before we started going out it would have been like you and Cho, I don't know. I never really tried to talk to Theo, though. I should have at least tried."
"Sometimes people just don't work together," Harry said wisely.
The mood was becoming much too dark for just sharing your first kiss.
"Look at us, talking about our exes after our first kiss," you said, laughing a little.
Harry laughed, too. "What is the right thing to do after kissing someone, anyway?"
You grinned up at him shyly. "Maybe doing it again?"
You were sure Harry's smile could've lit up the entirety of Hogwarts at midnight as he leaned down to kiss you again. It was just as exhilarating as the first time, maybe even better. Your fingers made their way back into Harry's locks again, combing, twisting, and pulling it. Harry hummed against your lips as you did so, encouraging you to keep going.
Harry's hands were around your waist this time, bunching the silk of your nightgown. His fingers traced patterns along your sides, moving up and down underneath his flannel still around your shoulders. The material of your nightgown was so thin you could practically feel the callouses on Harry's palms and fingers carressing your skin.
Harry seemed to want to deepen the kiss, but you had the sense he didn't know how. You decided to take initiative by licking his bottom lip. His lips parted almost instantly. You slipped your tongue into his mouth while simultaneously shifting even closer to Harry so your folded knees rested on top of his thighs.
When you finally had to break apart again to breathe you kept your lips on Harry. You planted soft kisses across his jawline as one of your hands dropped from his hair to the hem of his shirt.
