I went to the game.

We had fun, Bradley's team won, we got slushies and went for a drive. Y'know, typical teen shit.

We texted every day and even talked in the hallways. He showed me off to his team and his friends even before we were dating. I felt special. Liked.

Q still didn't approve, he would stare Bradley down when he joined one of our conversations, but Bradley was significantly taller than Q, so it was a bit like a kitten hissing at a fully grown lion.

We started dating after a week. Kissed in the hallways, bunking class to hang out, unfortunately the only free period he had was at the same time as my only class with Q, I went anyway. We could always hang out after school, and he had a girlfriend anyway.

Three weeks into the relationship and we were the prize couple in our school year. Soon enough everyone knew who I was, Y/N L/N, Bradley's girlfriend, the luckiest girl in school.

I started seeing Q less and less, he never showed up at my house like he used to, and Bradley always wanted to go out with me to places we'd already been about eighty times. Even if I didn't want to hang out with Bradley that day, he found a way to force me, from guilt-tripping me to driving to my house and telling my mom we had a date.

One night, I had Bradley over at my house. We were watching a movie on my laptop in my room, when I got a text from Q.

"Hey Y/N. I really need to talk to you" I texted back. "Busy watching a movie with Bradley, what's up?"

An instant response. "I'm outside your house, just please come outside. No Bradley. Just you."

Anxiety bit at my lungs. What was going on? I looked to Bradley. "Q's outside, he wants to talk to me about something important, alone." He looked back at me. "Okay. Be quick though."

I got outside to an obviously distressed Q. "What's up?" I asked, walking over to him. "Y/N..so much is up, so fucking much. "He started to ramble "Mari played me, I feel like I'm losing my best friend, class sucks without you, you're ne-" I grabbed his shoulders. "Hey hey, calm down, deep breaths, let's start with problem one. What happened with Mari?" I asked. "No, I don't wanna focus on that, that's not my number one problem, Y/N" He looked up at me. "I miss you, Y/N. I miss what we had and I feel like pure shit watching Bradley have his goddamn tongue down your throat all the time." I let go of him almost immediately. "Miss me? what the heck do you mean?! I'm right here, Q." His only response was a laugh. "No, you aren't. You aren't right here. You're with Bradley, all the damn time. You never make time for me anymore."

I scoffed. Of course. "Really?" I huffed "I see how this is, you're butthurt that I'm in a happy relationship because Mari played you like I said she would." I crossed my arms as he looked at me with hurt eyes. What the hell was I saying!?

"What the hell?! No! You know I'm not like that, Y/N, what the fuck is wrong with you?" He stared at me, angry, and hurt. "I'm 'butthurt' because my best friend acts like I don't fucking matter anymore because she got a popular, 'sexy' footballer boyfriend and became a massive bitch, that's why I'm fucking 'butthurt' Y/N!"

"Then why do you never call?! Why don't you come crawling through my window at 6pm every night like YOU used to?!" I snapped in rebuttal.

He shouted this time. "I DO! BUT YOU'RE NEVER FUCKING THERE! YOU'RE NEVER THERE AND I SAT IN YOUR ROOM FOR TWO FUCKING HOURS WAITING FOR YOU TO COME HOME SO WE COULD HANG OUT! ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS SEE MY NUMBER ONE! MY BEST FRIEND, MY FUCKING PARTNER IN CRIME. BUT YOU'RE HANGING OUT WITH THAT ASSHOLE, AND NOW YOU'VE BECOME ONE OF THE SKANKY SNAKES WE USED TO MAKE FUN OF TOGETHER!"

It was almost like I couldn't control my body, I slapped him across the face, hard enough to make him topple over and land on the floor. The noise it made echoed through the streets. My Mom, My Brother, and Bradley ran outside. "Honey?!" My Mom stood on the porch, face painted over with concern.

"DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME A FUCKING SKANK!" I screamed at the terrified boy on the floor. Bradley ran over and scooped me into a hug. "Babe, calm down, calm d-" I kicked Bradley as hard as I could, and ran down the street as fast as I could. Q, Bradley, My Mom and My Brother were all yelling after me. I kept running, and running, and running.

I called my Dad. He picked up right away. "Hey Princess, what's up? Why are you crying?" I explained everything. He sighed. "I'll come pick you up. Stay inside the supermarket nearby for now" I could hear him starting up his car. "I'll see you in a bit. Do you want me to tell your mom where you are?"

"No. Don't tell anyone I'm with you." I responded.

"Alrighty Pumpkin. I love you"

"I love you too Dad."
