*Neo*

I awoke to dim fluorescent lights of the warehouse. I groaned and tried to sit up, but a thick rope was binding my arms to the floor. I groggily turned my head, trying to shake the rest of the haziness off. Blurry figures were moving about in the distance until my vision cleared and I saw the gang hovering around Mia - who was tied to one of the concrete pillars. She was weak and bruised and looked deathly sick.

I tried calling for her but my voice was muffled as there was a wad of cloth tied around my mouth. Felix casually walked over, inspecting me.

"Well good morning," he teased. "Changed your mind yet?" I narrowed my eyes and shouted at him through the cloth. He 'tsked' me before walking away as I squirmed around trying to get free. I managed to get the gag off, despite all of my best efforts.

"Let her go!" I yelled. "Stop! Let her go!" Mia moved her head to make eye contact with me. Her once-bright eyes were dull and full of pain. The man I didn't recognise delivered a heavy kick to her ribs and she went into a fit of coughing.

"No, please!" I screamed. "Stop!"

"Shut him up," Des muttered. Vanesa came over and refastened the gag around my mouth, ignoring my wriggling.

"Sorry little cousin," she muttered. "But you broke your vow. We're finally getting our revenge, with or without you. This little pup doesn't stand a chance," I stared at her.

"What?" The cloth muffled my response but Nessie understood. Her eyes sparkled with a mischievous twinkle.

"Oh, that's right. She's a Wolverine, Neo. She's their little sister," My eyes widened before they glimmered with anger.

"Alright, alright!" I shouted. Nessie hovered over me and untied the ropes. I ripped the gag from my mouth, glaring at Mia. "I'll join you. They'll finally pay for what they did," I strode toward Mia, who was now cowering before me.

"You're an Adams?" I asked angrily.

"No, I'm not!" she protested weakly. Emilio kicked her.

"Shut up, Whore. You've been playing around with my brother for long enough," he threatened as tears dripped down her pale cheeks.

"Neo, that's not true!" she pleaded desperately.

I reached into my pocket and brought out my blade. "You lied to me?" I repeated.

She shook her head. "I would never,"

"Was this all just a game to you?" I yelled. I watched the fear settle in her eyes as she tried to shrink away from me.

"No-," She started coughing again, her body contorting in obvious pain. "No," She blinked back tears. My eyes angrily darted back and forth.

"Everyone out!" I crouched closer to her, brandishing my blade against her cheek. "This needs to be personal," Her green eyes were teary as she flinched away from me, her entire body shaking.

"No way, Boy. I know you're bluffing," The man snarled, but Emilio announced that the Adams brothers had arrived.

"Ben, he'll be fine. Neo knows not to turn his back on us," Felix said threateningly, though he was giving me an odd look. I knew I'd just been found out, but he didn't seem to react.

Ben just shook his head angrily before following the others out.

As soon as the door was closed I quickly lowered the knife and hugged her. Her eyes were wide as she leaned away from me.
