'Give her space' my ass. My sister needed someone now more than ever, and that person was going to be me. Even though we'd made up yesterday, I still wanted to be in her good graces. It was my job as her twin to be there for her, and I wouldn't let her down.

We were all sitting on the couches, watching the news channel for all the shit they were plastering over the media.

"So what do we want for dinner?" Cato asked us, switching off the Tv and deciding it was time to change the topic.

"Pizza!" Calvin voted quickly.

Cato sent him a frown. "We had a shit ton of pizza last week, pick something else,"

"Chinese?" Eli suggested. He was shot down too.

"Well is Mia cooking?" Colton asked, voicing the one question no one else wanted to.

"I don't think so," Cato answered quietly.

"We have ground turkey in the fridge," Xander decided. "I'll make tacos,"

Everyone seemed to agree, and Cato and Xander left to start dinner while the triplets turned on the Xbox.

"Alan, come play Minecraft with us," Eli beckoned.

I shook my head, rising to my feet. "Nah, I'm gonna go check on Mia," I told them, heading towards the stairs.

"Cato said not to bother her," he recalled.

I shrugged as I made my way past the kitchen. "Fuck him,"

"Alan Jacob I heard that!" Cato scolded.

I rolled my eyes, jogging upstairs and knocking on Mia's door. "Mia?" I called softly. "Can I come in?" I waited for her response before stepping inside.

She was curled up on the bed, a pillow clutched in her arms. She lifted her head slightly as I entered but laid back down after seeing me.

"Hey," I said gently. "Can I sit?" I sat down on her bed at her nod, seeing the tear remnants on her cheeks.

She wiped her eyes with the back of her sweatshirt sleeve, forcing herself to sit up. "Is everything okay?" she asked. "Do I need to go do something?"

I quickly shook my head. "No, you're fine. I just wanted to come check on you,"

"I'm okay," she informed me.

"You're lying,"

Mia squirmed in her seat, sighing. "Fine," she mumbled. "You're right," She flopped back down onto the bed and I did the same.

"So are you gonna tell me what's bothering you or will I have to use my twin telepathy and guess?" I teased.

A small smile tugged at her lips. "Guess,"

"You're wishing you had more brothers," I said with a smirk.

She gave me a serious look. "Alan, that's not even funny,"

I raised my eyebrows. "Oh yeah? I think we could use at least three more,"

Mia laughed softly, her green eyes finally sparkling to life. "No way,"

"Yes way," I argued playfully, nudging her.

She rolled her eyes. "I think we have three too many already,"

"Don't let the triplets hear you say that," I warned. "They'll prank you like there's no tomorrow,"

She smiled again but her eyes eventually went back to wandering around the room.
