*Xander*

Sitting in the emergency room was torture. We had no information on Amelia, no way of knowing if she'd survived or not.

Neo had finished his surgery an hour ago, and Des and Felix had already left to go see him, leaving the rest of us to wait in the lobby. There were other people there, but the five of us huddled together, miserable and exhausted, but none of us wanted to fall asleep.

Colton hadn't come down yet, but I'd been informed his surgery had gone fine and we were waiting for him to wake up from the anaesthesia.

"Alan, sit down," I told him tiredly, sick of watching him pace back and forth. He scowled at me but forcefully plopped down into the seat next to me, crossing his arms.

"Why won't they tell us anything?" he complained for the fiftieth time.

"They might not know yet," I informed him, giving him a look. "We just have to wait,"

"Is Cato coming soon?" Eli asked, sitting up carefully as to not wake Javi. Javi had fallen asleep a while ago, despite his best efforts to stay up with the rest of us.

"He's on his way here," I answered, glancing at my phone again. "They stopped at home to change and bring new clothes for everyone,"

"How's Cayden?" Calvin question, his voice quiet. It was the saddest I've ever seen him.

"He's fine," Alan said a little too harshly. "He broke a finger,"

I sighed, rubbing my temples in exasperation.

"Alan, that's enough," I snapped. "We are all worried for Amelia, but that does not give you the right to be an asshole to your brother. We've been through a lot, so I'd appreciate it if we all tried to be nice, got it?" The boys all mumbled out 'yes', turning away from me.

"Mr Adams?" We all scrambled to our feet, anxiously awaiting whatever news we were about to get.

"Our sister?" Alan asked hopefully. I nudged him, giving him a warning look.

"I'm afraid not," the nurse said, handing Xander her clipboard. "Your brother, Colton Adams, those are his discharge papers. I also need one of you to come assist him. He's still a little out of it,"

Calvin immediately stepped forward, glancing towards me for permission. I nodded, and he followed the nurse down the hall.

"At least Colton's okay," Eli gave us a faint smile.

Javi stirred softly, lifting his head and looking around at us with big blue eyes. "Cosa sta succedendo? Come sta mia sorella?" he mumbled sleepily.

Eli shifted in his seat. "English, Javi," he reminded.

"Mia," he repeated slowly. "Is she okay?"

"We don't know yet," I told him bluntly, though I tried to put on a gentle expression.

His face fell. "I'm scared," he whispered, lying back down against Eli's shoulder.

"Us too," Eli murmured softly.

"Xander," Alan kicked my leg, making me look up from the paperwork I was currently filling out.

"Ow," I muttered, kicking him back. "You ass,"

Alan rolled his eyes, nudging my arm. "Cato and Cayden are here,"

I glanced up as the two made their way over. "Hey," I greeted, glancing towards Cayden. "How are you feeling?" Cayden only shrugged before he took Calvin's empty seat and folded his arms.
