Chapter seventy: The Ocean

Taylor grabbed LJ's arm and pulled him up a bit before pushing off the ground and stayed still to feel if they were tipping, once she saw they werent she turned and went back to the windows and looked outside seeing the water reached the tenth floor, so they were in the clear, she looked over seeing the debris from the other buildings floating towards them but none of them were big enough to cause damage, but Taylor did see one thing that could cause damage, it was causing damage to the buidings infront of theirs, a ship, a frieght ship, the cargo was slidding off the bow of the ship and crashing through windows and buildings as the ship itself crashed through buildings across, she saw it's path and saw the ship would cause this building to topple over, she turned knowing there was one safe place to be for a while, she went over to the elevator and started to pull the door's apart, Monte went over and grabbed it helping her, the other's backed away while Carson went over and helped the two as well, the doors opened enough leaving Monte and Carson to hold them open, Taylor looked into the stair well and looked up before looking down seeing the elevator half way down the shaft.

Taylor turned and looked at everyone before looking down, she turned and grabbed Alfie before sitting on the edge of it ''Hold onto my back, tightly alright?'' Alfie did as told holding onto Taylor's shoudlers tightly, Taylor looked to Carson who nodded, trusting her, Taylor moved and turned before reaching for the ladder to the side of the door's and started climbing down to the elevator, it wasn't that far down, just two floor's below them. She landed on the elevator and balanced herself before getting Alfie off her back setting him down, she looked up seeing them getting Vivian on the ladder letting her climb down, Taylor went over to the small hatch on the top and got it open before motioning Alfie to walk over to it, Alfie moved over and Taylor climbed into the shaft and looked at it knowing there were a lot of people upstairs but she knew that they only needed the children to get into the elevator, Taylor reached up as Alfie sat on the edge of the hatch. Taylor caught him before setting him down. She crouched down to him and looked at him ''I'm gonna get Alex down here, alright?'' she stated looking to him, Alfie nodded, Taylor looked up feeling Vivian get down there, Vivian walked over and sat down letting Taylor help her down, she set Vivian down ''Do you know how to brace in an elevator?'' Vivian nodded and sat down motioning for Alfie to join her.

Taylor jumped up and climbed onto the top of the elevator and looked up seeing Connor climbing down, LJ looked outside the window again seeing the ship got closer and moved back as it hit the bottom floors of the building, the whole building shook causing them to fall, Carson grabbed Monte pulling him away from the elevator door's as they shut. Connor held onto the ladder as the building shook, Taylor fell over grabbing for the thick cord holding it as the building shook, she looked to Connor and moved over to the ladder ''You need to climb down.'' she stated and reached for her flashlight before shinning it up to him, Connor moved his body back as the building continued to shake, then Taylor heard the crumbling of the building and held onto the ladder feeling the building tip. LJ grabbed one fo the cubical walls feeling everything tip and looked down to Ben, Carson moved him and Monte over so they were basically standing on the cubical wall as the building tipped.

Jonathan did the same and grabbed Alex pulling him to him so he was holding him closer and looked over to Monte, the top of their building crashed into the building across from them stopping the building to be right over the water, letting them see all the rushing water below, Aviana held onto the stairs railing, Carson looked over seeing a photo copier hanging by the cord ''Jon, move.'' Carson stated seeing where it was hanging, Jon looked at the photo copier and picked Alex up before slilghtly moving over so the two weren't right under the copier, Evin reached over for Alex being on a wall knowing they should probably try joining him, Jonathan grabbed the top of the cubical and leaned over, Alex reached for Evin seeing what to do and Evin grabbed him pulling him over and looked around seeing a water dispenser fall from the cord finally coming out of the wall, it hit the door on the wall on that Evin was on breaking it open and smashing one of the windows in that room. Jonathan looked at him before looking to the photo copier, LJ tried pulling himself up but the cubical started to break, LJ looked down to Ben who started crying and sighed ''Jon.'' he turned back and moved over to LJ who moved his hands apart ''Take him.'' LJ stated, Jon crouched down and leaned over lifting Ben out of the baby carrier and held him against his chest before moving back over to Evin who reached over again.

Jonathan grabbed the top of the cubical again and leaned over a bit before looking to Evin ''I got him.'' he stated and laid on his stomach before reaching over for Ben, Jon leaned over and let Evin hold him then started moving back and placed Ben on the wall before moving him in more and stood up again before LJ let go seeing the photo copier fall, he hit the windown and covered his head as the photo copier smash through the cubicals beside Jonathan breaking what he was stepping on, Jon jumped to where Evin was before climbing up on the wall and got up and looked over seeing he would've fallen, the photo copier was stuck in the cubicals but he could tell it would fall ''LJ, you gotta move.'' LJ pushed off the glass seeing that him hitting the glass slightly cracked the inside of the glass, and he saw the water rushing below him, he saw where the boat hit and where it was bending. Jon watched the photo copier lean forward ''LJ.'' he called, as it slipped and hit the two windows breaking the one beside LJ as well as the metal bar slightly bending it as the copier fell through the broken window beside him.

LJ watched the glass around his hands start to shatter, Monte looked down before moving around ''Monte what-'' ''He's gonna fall through.'' Monte stated cutting Carson off before slowly climbing down the other side, he lightly stepped on the window that was on the other side of LJ ''Hey.'' Monte stated and crouched down a bit, LJ smiled a bit ''Thought these window's were stronger then this.'' LJ stated looking straight down, Monte leaned over reaching for him ''You could come to this window.'' LJ slightly moved his knee's and heard the glass crack and watched as the crack spread through the thick glass to the outside, same with the cracking near his hands and the cracks that were made with his body when he hit the glass, LJ looked to the metal bar knowing that no longer being straight made it difficult for the glass to even stay in it's place ''You should get back up to safety.'' LJ stated and slightly looked to Monte who shook his head keeping his hand out for LJ to grab.
