"Marinette," Adrien said quietly, waking her up. "I need your engagement ring."
She opened her eyes and looked at him confused. "My engagement ring?"
"Yes," he replied simply.
With an uncertain nod she removed her ring and held it out to him.
After taking it he put it in his pocket. "I have to go out, but I won't be gone for very long. You stay here and rest."
"Okay," Marinette said, still confused.
Adrien pushed her hair back from her eyes. "I love you Princess."
"I love you too."
After giving her a peck on the lips, he got up and left. Even though he didn't have his Miraculous, Plagg still went with him. They all agreed that he would stay with Adrien all the time, just in case.
They had two stops to make. The first one was very quick, taking less than five minutes. All he had to do was pay the courier and scribble a note. The second stop took considerably longer. Adrien had to make sure that everything was perfect, so they stayed at the second store for about an hour.
When they were done there, Adrien rushed back home.
Barging into the apartment he ran right up to Marinette, who was in the kitchen making breakfast.
Once he reached her, he got down on one knee and held out a jewelry box towards her. There was a new diamond ring inside. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng," he said, gasping for breath. "I love you so much. You're the love of my life. Will you please do me the honor of marrying me?"
She blinked at him. "Uh... yes?"
He jumped up and wrapped her up in a hug before tipping her backwards and kissing her passionately.
When they separated, Marinette tilted her head. "You do know that we're already engaged, right?"
He shook his head. "No. Now our engagement is official. Because now you have your real engagement ring."
"You didn't have to get me another ring, Adrien. I love the other one..."
"No," he argued. "That one wasn't good enough for you. This is the one you deserve. Please try it on."
"My silly Kitty," she sighed. Then she took it from the box and slid it onto her left ring finger. "I love it," she said with a big smile. "Thank you Adrien."
"You're welcome. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," she replied, getting confused again.
"No I mean, how are you feeling? You know, from last night?" he asked awkwardly.
"Oh," she sputtered, understanding the question. "Okay I guess. A little sore, but overall okay."
He nodded and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I want to make love to you again Marinette, to celebrate our engagement. But I don't want to hurt you. Do you think that you'd be okay?"
She smiled. "Now I understand why you got me a new ring," she teased.
"Is that a 'yes'?"
With a smirk she leaned in and pressed her lips to his.

Across the city at the Agreste mansion, Nathalie grabbed another pastry from the box next to her.
She had been very surprised that morning when she received a delivery. What made it surprising was the fact that the box was actually addressed to her. Very rarely was there any mail intended for anyone other than her boss.
