Ramsey was genuinely terrifying as we updated everyone on the fight. Mr. Nobody getting injured shook up our confidence. His people helped us get home. It was a long flight back home which was plenty of time to think of a plan. We wouldn't have much time to prepare once we landed. I figured they'd find us by the night.
Once we landed, we decided on an overlook to discuss the plan. Mr. Nobody's team was kind enough to bring our cars. It was great that we didn't need to call several taxis. As we looked at downtown, we ran through the plan again. It seemed that everyone was on board but Rome was too silent during the whole pitch.
"I'm all for winging it. But this is crazy girl. We got some mercenaries with some real heat on us. I'm not scared or nothing. But man, I don't even have a gun." Rome panicked as usual
"Gun? We got a whole city." Dom dismissed
"And we may have more than that. If they tap into God's Eye, they can tap into the cameras around town to find our location. Which means we could plant a virus." Tej thought of
"And break-in when they access it. So, you're talking about hacking into my hacking device. Brilliant." Ramsey praised
"Yeah but there's 1 problem. Signal strength. We can't start a hack on them until they're in a 2-mile range." He explained
"That's really close." Letty sighed
"Close. These guys are military. If they're within 2 miles of us, we're already dead." Rome reminded
"I don't know about y'all but I didn't really plan on dying today." Rome dramatically grumbled
"Only 1 way to stay alive. We play keep away with Ramsey." Brian suggested
"What?" Ramsey freaked out
"Like Rome said, we're dead if they stay within 2 miles. But if we can keep moving, we'll probably survive. Besides, we know this city in & out. There's plenty of places to duck into & give them the slip for a bit." I supported
"And I'll take Shaw." Dom decided
He stepped away out of our earshot as we started bickering again. Letty didn't join in on policing them as she joined Dom.
"So basically, we're gearing up for a big game of hot potato." Tej explained
"Which car is the hot potato?" She asked
"Whichever you're in. You're the one they're after." I replied
"No. No, this is crazy. I can't let you all risk your lives to help me hack into my own device. You just met me." She panicked
"We've been through some crazy things before you. This isn't going to be anything we're not used to. It's just bigger bullets. You're not getting us into something we could've done ourselves." Brian calmed her
"How are you all this calm?" She questioned
"Because it's our life. Crazy is in our blood. Seriously, we got this." Letty assured her as she joined us
It took a collective effort to calm Ramsey down & convince her she wasn't forcing us into a death trap. Once she was fairly calm, we headed to my place to set up. We took long routes to try & beat God's Eye. Rome & Tej picked my one of my cars to use. Harold went to get Letty's while Brian & I tuned up ours. Dom helped us before heading back to the house for the beast.
