At first it was quiet as he took in his surroundings. His eyes locked with mine, I found myself slowly walking closer to him.

"Mira? Bad idea, bad idea," Ron whispered to me but I ignored him looking at the man who had no control sadly.

"Professor Lupin?" I started, he whimpered at me. My words caught in my throat, "Dad?" I slowly reached out my hand but stopped myself when he howled into the air. I jumped back, Hermione grabbing my sleeve and bringing me closer to them.

He slowly stalked us ready to pounce when Snape reappeared through the hole clearly peeved off, "There you are!" Lupin snarled from behind him and his demeanor changed from angry to protective as he shield us from Lupin with his arms.

Lupin swiped at us, we fell to the floor with a yelp. His roar was loud, yet within the vicious nature I could hear him, as if it were an echo, shouting for us to run, to get away from him as he didn't have any control. He slowly came closer, his hand in the air. But just before he could swipe again Sirius lunged at him, now transformed into his animagus form. The two creatures started fighting, Sirius doing his best to get Lupin away from us.

That he did, Sirius ran, Lupin's attention now on him as he abandoned us to get to him. Harry and I ran after them, "Come back here!" Snape ordered onto deaf ears as we ran to help.

Harry threw a rock at Lupin's head, getting his attention. He snarled at us as he slowly came toward us, I could hear him again, "Mira I know you can hear me, get away!"

Just as he was about to strike, came a howl.....a very bad impression of one at least. But it was enough to distract the creature. He looked off in the direction it had come from, then came a much more realistic howl. Still clearly fake but much better than the previous one. At that howl, the creature sped off in search of what made the call.

Harry and I turned to each other relieved, then I'd heard painful whining of the Grim. I turned and saw Sirius limping in dog form, tripping but resurfacing in human form. He fell down the hill and Harry and I followed, getting closer to the Black lake.

We found him passed out right at the shore, he was badly injured, long scratch marks going from his shoulder to his chest, "Sirius!" Harry yelled.

Suddenly, the water started to freeze, I could see my breath, "Well that's never a good sign," I muttered pulling out my wand and looking around urgently.

Shouting from Sirius alerted me to where the dementors where coming from. Looking up I saw not one, not a few; but dozens, maybe a hundred or more! All whirling round with us in the center. One came from the center and fed off of Sirius, he convulsed until it left.

Harry and I quickly got to our feet, "Expecto Patronum!" We shouted, Harry's shield appeared whilst my dove flew attacking every dementor it could. He looked at me shocked as my dove drove away a dozen of them. I did my best to remain focused but then a dreadful thought made my patronus disappear, how was Lupin?

Using it to their advantage, one of the dementors made it through Harry's shield and grabbed me with their corpse-like hands. It felt as if the oxygen had left my lungs. I screamed, which only made it worse, as it then felt like I was choking. My vision blurred but I heard Harry scream, and the bright light of his shield gone; we were defenseless. My legs gave out and I lay on my stomach, the cold ice from the river freezing me, and the dementors feeding off of me until I'd passed out.

I woke up groggy, the familiar lights of the hospital wing bringing me back to reality. I quickly sat up feeling slightly dizzy but it subsided quickly, "Mira!" Hermione ran to my bed, "Are you alright?"
