So my friend breukdog did a chapter in his book 'NCIS Ships' (You should go read it, it's really good) where he compiled a list of all of the NCIS characters rules. WHICH BY THE WAY I SUPER APPRECIATE AND USE PROBABLY TOO MUCH! So, I decided to write Leah some rules.
Let's go!?
I don't actually know how this is going to turn out...
1. When in doubt, math.
2. Unless absolutely necessary, never ever involve children.
3. Trust the team.
4. Don't pile on yourself, or onto others.
5. Give people the benefit of the doubt.
6. Sometimes, being nice counts. -When means fail, just ask nicely.
7. If the math is wrong, do it again. Math doesn't break, people's brains do.
8. Look. Then look again. Look up, down, above, and under.
9. Never be alone without a means of self defense, or a means to get out of handcuffs.
10. Always be reachable.
11. Don't lie, and if you do make it a good one.
12. If it can be applied to a movie, apply it to a movie.
13. Don't rely on luck.
14. Don't act prematurely -especially in chess. But don't wait too long to act either.
15. Find the happy medium.
16. If you're needed, be there.
17. Don't underestimate people.
18. Don't kick people when they're down.
19. Every once and a while it's a good idea to rest.
Crazy I know.
20. When two peoples stories are exactly the same, that doesn't mean it was made up. Perhaps they were in the same place at the same time doing the same thing. Double check.
21. Pay attention.
22. Don't take time, resources, or good for granted.
23. Learn to use something before you try to use it. If you don't know how to use it, ask someone else. If no one knows, figure it out.
24. Don't give people flowers.
25. Remember people's birthdays.
26. Small things count.
27. Chin up, or your crown's gonna slip.
28. Give yourself credit for things. Allow yourself to be proud of yourself. You're worth things. You are worth attention. You are worth peoples energy. Get out of the hole you dug yourself, and get back to work.
29. Use large words correctly.
30. Coffee and energy drinks are for the weak. Drink water witch.
31. If you need to fidget with things, fidget with things.
32. Taking compliments doesn't make you stuck up.
33. No time? Make time.
34. Don't be mean to the animals.
35. Prepare, prepare, prepare.
36. Don't complain about a mess you made.
37. Get the lawyers out. We don't need them. They're just annoying. Also, don't become one.
38. Don't substitute hardwork for talent.
39. Don't overlook the simple because it's simple.
40. If emotions get the better of you in any way, take a step back, get a grip on yourself, and get back to work.
41. You can't substitute for sleep.
42. Knives are your best friend.
43. Remember your facts.
44. If it doesn't work, eat, and try again.
45. Petty arguments just take up time
46. Don't hide things from your other team members.
47. Don't hold grudges
48. There's a fine line between reality, and non-reality.
49. If it needs to be done, get it done.
50. Don't offer Ravenger a pen.
51. Keep a book on you at all times.
52. Just because they're not part of your official team, doesn't mean that you can't get along. Unless they're FBI or CIA. Then you just don't get along.
53. If you're gonna dance, actually dance. If you get the part, act the part.
54. Sometimes, taking a few steps back, is the answer.
55. Follow orders, unless the orders are wrong, then carve your own path.
56. When a job is done, walk away.
57. If you don't want to do it, don't procrastinate.
58. Do it by hand, then check with technology.
59. Be willing to give and accept apologies
60. Record everything.
Anyhoo, this isn't a real chapter (obviously) but I figured I'd compile a list anyway!
One more thing. 'I'm a DiNozzo' has as of this moment, 5.8k reads! That number is insane! Thank you guys so much for your love and support, it truly means the world to me! This book has grown drastically and I don't know why, but it makes my fricking life fam.
