once jaemin had left, "to get materials", she jumped up onto the chair he was sitting on, leaning back in it and sucking on yet another lollipop.
"dude, oh my word- i know who you are." jeno looked to heloise with disinterest in his eyes, maybe if he hid it enough she wouldn't notice his bubbling apprehension.
"you're an idol, right?" he released the breath he had been sucking in. "how did you know?" "my brother's a big fan of your group, nct dream, right?"
the boy, who was now identified as an idol, nodded defeatedly. if anyone found out where he had been, he would've been in even more trouble.
"can you... i don't know, not tell anyone?" "do i look like i know anyone of importance to you? who the fuck would i tell? the homeless druggie who curls himself up into the trash bin and sleeps all day?"
taken aback by the answer, he looked down at his hands and fiddled with them. there was a kind of half hearted silence as heloise made no effort to keep the tranquility of the atmosphere. she shifted around in the seat, sucked loudly on the lollipop, occasionally sniffed whilst rubbing her nose.
"do you... do you have a cold? you sniff a lot." "no? it's just my aesthetic, sniffing is part of the concept." jeno nodded slowly, brows knitted tightly together. the answers she gave to thing were quite interesting, to say the least.
the silence was slightly annoying, so he thought to ask her more questions. "do you enjoy your job?" "it's not a job, sweetie, it's a lifestyle. does that answer the question?" "not really." "well then i don't know, do you? do you enjoy your job?"
her tone sounded mostly like she didn't care to know, but she had asked so she would surely get an answer. "i guess it's okay. like it's fun, i have good friends, there are a lot of people that love me but i don't know. it doesn't seem like a nice way to live, like maybe if i could be a little more free."
she nodded with understanding. they both stood up from their seats at the same time, meeting his eyes with curiosity.
"i should probably get going, my manager might be waiting for me." "alright, bye jeno, see you." heloise turned on her heel, looking for another packet of lollipops she could devour.
"wait, uhm, before you go... could i know your name? so that, i, er, can find you next time?" "my name? it's heloise, darling." "nice. are you french?"
"i don't know - i might've been. for now though, i just like the name."
