she woke up fairly early the next morning, at least for her it was early.

she had gone back to her own room eventually, well not her own room but the guest room.

she was still thinking over what she had done. how she had kissed jeno without his permission, whilst he was asleep. that's why she went back to her own room, for fear that maybe he would wake up in the morning and prove that he was actually awake when she kissed him.

but his face just looked so unreal, in the dim barely visible light of the moon and she couldn't stop herself.

"hellie~"
jeno's voice calling her finally forced her out of bed once and for all.

heloise walked down the unlit corridor, counting black threaded patterns on the beige carpet, trying to remember how many steps it had taken her to get to the guest room last night. retracing those steps.

she knew she had gotten to the corridor in which jeno's room was but had no idea which door led to his room.

and she couldn't just go in. so she knocked instead.

and when there was no answer, she knocked again.

so invested in knocking that she didn't notice the door opposite her until she heard a voice snicker loudly.
"did you really think that was my room?"

heloise huffed loudly, extremely embarrassed that she had guessed the wrong door.
"it's difficult to tell."

"i mean, there was no answer. that should've been a clear sign to you."
"you could've been doing something or something, i don't know. it's not my fault your house is so confusing."

he laughed loudly and she leant back against the door, nonchalant.
"why on earth would i respond from inside a broom cupboard?"

jeno twisted down the golden handle of the door, causing heloise to trip backwards due to an absence of something to lean on.

he stepped forward and brought her closer to his body, leaning on the door that had now closed again for support.

"what the fuck? jeno, why aren't you wearing a shirt?"
"is that the only thing you're able to notice? whilst we're this close?"

a blush danced over her cheekbones as she realised what he was referring to. her hands her placed on his bare chest and his arms were wrapped firmly around her waist.
and not to mention the tilt of his head that made their lips that much closer.

a shiver ran down her spine.
"fuck you, lee jeno."
"fuck you too, heloise sohn, for kissing me last night. i couldn't even sleep for a second, the thought of you kept me up so well."

he diverted his shift upwards to land a kiss on her head, which she quickly pulled away from him and wiped it off with her palm.

"also, heloise, i only wanted to ask a question."
"yeah?"
she couldn't understand why the prospect of him just asking her a question was making her heart thump.

what question did her heart think he was going to ask? what question did her heart want him to ask?

"should i dress up before my members come, or should i half dress to make it more natural?"

she sighed deeply, her heart rate decreasing rapidly. "uh, h- half-dress i guess."

"hehe, that rhymes, also?.."

her heart picked up again. she almost wanted to shout, at the horrible organ, for making her feel this way.
it's not like he was going to ask if-

"can you please-"

her chest almost broke. she couldn't handle how slowly he was saying it. how slowly everything felt like it was going.

"can you please massage my neck, please? it hurts from trying to avoid the pillow."

this chapter was just unnecessarily long for like no reason bcs I had like three original ideas for it and I didn't mean to write all of them in one place but it just kind happened like that and it's annoying because like yeah, because the next chapter is just going to be boring yeah

(also, i went on a walk with wifey jks jks she's not bae yet but all in due course innit)
