Midnight smiled as he got the upper hand. With a combo of fire and wind he had made her flinch and stopped her earth attack to make it into a shield. After that, she allowed them to go. But she showed them something before they went.
"This might put some push in your step..." She floated a screen up and showed it to them. They gasped at the sight. Lapis was barely moving as two warriors eyed him. Anger pulsed through Midnight.
"They do that to Big Brother Lapis?" The lady nodded.
"This just shows how much I am ashamed of that lord. When you go in there, don't go easy." They nodded as they left.
???
Lapis's soft breathing put a guilty feeling in Lynn as she watched him. He hadn't moved since the last torture session. Cynn eyed her.
"Don't tell me you feel bad for him." She huffed.
"I don't feel bad for him. He earned it. More like I feel guilty about this. Like something's going to happen..." He hummed as Lapis finally turned over. A light groan then silence. She frowned. The same as last time. She glanced at him. "What about you?"
"I sorta feel bad for him. All he did was bend a little bit of water and now he's like this. We should at least take off the enchantment or give him food or something. But I don't want to say that in front of the lord and get my butt handed to me. So I've been quiet about it knowing what the answer will be." She hummed as she studied Lapis.
"Y'know what? Despite all that we've done to him, he seems to return to a state that seems impossible to achieve." He hummed.
"Yeah... stability." He hummed. "Maybe he doesn't have to join us, but train people. Our weakness is no stability in our ranks. The lord did his best only to get the same weakness." Lynn nodded as the ground shuttered weakly. She sighed.
"That's probably the poor earth shaker trying again. Honestly..." The ground shuttered again, waking Lapis up. He shifted to his back as Lynn went over. "Can we get our answer now?" He paused at the sound of her voice. His lips moved a little, but then they stopped as he stared at the ceiling. Was he that weak? Instead of shocking him, she kicked the cage, regaining his attention. "Answer?" He looked away as the ground shuddered. She growled before Cynn sighing.
"What do we tell him? He's at the point where it's answer or death." She hummed as the ground shuddered, this time a lot stronger. She growled as she poked her head out.
"Amy! Knock him out!"
"It's not the shaker!" That stopped the whole area. Who was shaking the area? The answer came quickly.
???
The quad had arrived at the prison and eyed Lapis's place. Cedar had shook the entire place while they made their way over to it. Soon, they were right near the door as the female knight tried to figure out the shaking. Sage led the attack with a knocking out of the area wind attack. The male knight turned as Lynn went down. Scarlet finished him off with an expert flame attack. Cedar and Midnight got to Lapis's side as he looked over. He smiled as they got him out. His mouth moved, but words were another story. Nothing hit the air as Cedar picked him up.
"Let's go." They nodded as they got out. It took them no time to get back across the border. They rested by a tree once they were safe.
"Lapis?" He nodded as he flinched in pain. "Hang in there." He nodded before they kept moving. They got to the town as she sighed. Lapis had fallen asleep on Scarlet. She smiled before setting him by the door. Tiffany ran to his side as he relaxed. The lady went over.
"I'm impressed. You have done things others couldn't have dreamed possible. Well done." They smiled as Lapis opened his eyes. She smiled as she healed him. "You did well. Good job." He hummed softly as she paused. "Your voice has been damaged and you have been weakened, but we'll get you back up there." He nodded as he rubbed his face. "Relax for now and we'll work on your recovery later." He smiled as Sage helped him inside. Scarlet smiled.
"Thank you, m'lady." The lady smiled at her.
"You are the one to be thanked. Thank you for that. I will see you soon." She teleported away as they bowed.
